Thanks for the info for the letters for my trunk, I'm going to research the options.

I have one more question;

I am looking for an alternative to the speakers that are part of my helmet headset. I am retired military, and flew in helicopters for a few years, and we had a system of earplugs that were in the helmet. These were part of the ICS (Internal Communications System) we plugged into in the helicopter.

Is there an option out there for replacing the speakers?

Thanks again for the help with the letters.

I've considered working up something like this as well, but never could figure out a good way to put earplug in, then helmet on, and not have excess wiring.  How did you work that in your aircraft?

Earplugs for the helmet isn't a bad job, If you don't mind looking like you have an i pod.. I did it last year for my 97 I/S...The cobra pipes and the volume turned up extra loud just wasn't a good combo for me.  I experimented with a cheap pair of "ear buds" and a female plug from Best Buy.  Just unsolder the speakers from the main housing and solder in the leads for the ear buds.  The female plug I ran through the same  hole as my mike lead under the foam in the helmet.  As far as extra wire there was more than enough, cut it to the length you might want...From my experience (pulling the earplugs out of my ears when I forgot to unplug them and then took off my helmet), I might try a longer hook up this season...occasionally the lead would get snagged in the helmet strap on the length I have now.  The only thing to be careful of is the 4 wires in the earplugs are "VERY" fine to work with.

The only down side to the set up is talking at traffic lights to another party or in the parking lot with the earplugs and your helmet on...it's really quiet.

I found my setup to be very comfortable, and it wasn't bothered by the weather...

Hope this might help.

I don't have a direct solution to your question, but I bought a pair of molded earphones from Big Ear so I could listen to the iPod over the Valkyrie's 2bros 6x6 pipes.  When we got the late great 'wing, I bought their patch cords that plug into the Honda loom and connect to, in my case, the J&M headphone/mic cord and allow you to listen to all the audio through the earphones while maintaining all the other functionality.  I never mounted the earphones to the helmet because I use them on and off the bike.

YOu put the earplugs in, put on your helmet, and there was a small 1/8th inch plug on the back of the helmet. Reach back, plug it in. If you pulled the plug out, the sound changed to the earphones in the helmet.
