cooldude  I watch him quite a bit. I watched this video when it came out
and noticed he rode the bike with the choke on for a good bit. Watching
it this time I was still saying out loud turn off the Darn choke
otherwise known as the enrichment circuit. He finally did.  Grin
It's hard for me to stop calling it a choke after all these years.  Cheesy

... I watched this video when it came out and noticed he rode the bike with the choke on for a good bit. ...

LOL!  I once erroneously rode one of my Valks from Olathe to Andover (166 miles) with the enricher engaged.  Apparently it doesn't cause short term damage other than some impact of fuel mileage.   Wink

BTW, the presenter of that video doesn't seem to know as much about Valkyries, or at least Standards, Tourers and OEM equipment, as we would like him to.

cooldude   He is a little short on knowledge of the Valkyrie.
He would probably say mine are the Tourer models also
while in reality they are the Roadster models.  2funny

I did about 70 mi. one time with the "choke" left on, not fully, cause it springs back somewhat, and realized it when I had to go on reserve. I was thinking how it ran like it had a burr under the saddle.

Terry,

Thanks for the link... and the reminder of... all the awesome stuff associated with our rides! Mitch once told me (while standing in your front yard, come to think of it) that the Valk is an incredible machine well worth owning, but it's all that goes with it that really blows our minds...Yeah, they're so much more than just a thrill producer... They are a way of life!!!

I thought riding with the enrichner full on (principally) could foul the plugs.

Over the years, I've done it for an hour or so (eventually, you notice the bike's lost some power), never all day.

My plugs seemed fine (I never pulled any to look).  Probably burned off any carbon.

For a long time now, one of my (every time) checklist items is to make sure I didn't leave it on (again).

I've also been known to ride away with the gas OFF.  Lots of fuel in the lines, but soon enough she stumbles (and you smack your forehead and reach down and switch it ON).  That's on the checklist too.   crazy2
