I just spoke with Shiner Brewery and they have us down for the 11:00 AM tour. I had to let them know if we have a group of 20 or more. It's a freebie! We need to leave the McDonalds/Shell (?) at the corner of Hwy 59 and Hwy 36 in Rosenberg by 8:30 to make it there in time. It's right at 100 miles. No rain dance practice that week, please !  Cheesy

HOW nice it is to have Riding weather this time of the Year ! I say this because of snow and ice on ground here. BUT, spring is on the way. Ride on and enjoy.  Wink

Leave at 8:30 -- Tour at 11:00 -- on a Friday!!

What the ...??

Ya'll don't have jobs??

Sounds like fun!  Shiner is one of our favorite riding destinations.  A lot of good back roads with great scenery and a couple of great beer joints there.

Enjoy, I like Shiner Bock.  Wish I was not so far away.  Just finished clearing the driveway of 4 inches of snow, more on the way.

Dang it! Keep all the snow over your way until after our ride! I wish more could make it here too! Certainly was one of the best rides last year!

I'll try but no promises.   We haven't had as much snow as most.

We have off that weekend, but I don't think we will be riding down from Amarillo. Still have snow on the ground. Haven't seen the sun in 2 days.  Will be down in Houston 23st - 27th spending time with the new grandson. Mayby his parents too!

You're certainly welcome to join us. Bandit is coming from NM. If you can't make it then send a message when you're down later in the month or give me a call. We just got a new grandbaby too..but she's in Hawaii! Congrats on the baby!

When I was stationed at NAS corpus working 3rd shift, I was a part time helper on a beer truck that hauled beer to the bars around Flour Bluff, we handled Shiner, among others. Brings back memories.  Hadn't thought about it for 40 years.  Wink   Hoser

If ya'll got time stop in "Antiques and Beer". Just north of the RR tracks on the main road on the left.  Neat little antique shop that sells beer. Or is it a beer joint that sells antiques...?   (No place but Shiner!)

Or/and Howards a couple of miles farther north (to Gonzales) on the right, almost out of town, it looks like a convenient store but they sell beer on tap and have an outside area in the back where you can drink.  They cater to bikes.

Would be nice to meet some other riders. We will be in Houston 23-26, know the kids will not want us there all the time, so we would have some time during the week. Have to see how things are going.

I will try and make this ride.  The weather looks good to leave out of Amarillo on Wednesday.  You'll recognize the the Big Red Land Elephant because it will have the gray golf bag on the back.  Will visits some friends in Houston on Thursday and then head to Austin after the tour to play golf with a friend for a couple days then head home.

Looking forward to meeting up with some of the Texas VRCC

Well my original plan was to take 287 thru Dallas to Houston and then south to League City.  Visiting some friends Thursday in Dickinson and then heading over to Rosenberg on Friday morning.  But I can change my plans and head south of Amarillo to Lubbock and then ride through the Hill Country.  Email me with your idea at cmorse40@gmail.com.
