With the highs headed to the 80's it was a great day for exploring.
It seemed like some fresh seafood would be a good thing.
And everyone knows that the freshest seafood is found at the beach.
The first stop along the way was Kerr Lake

Kerr (also known as Bugg's Island Lake) straddles the VA/NC border its a 50,000 acre lake with 850mi of shoreline.
Along the way I spotted this sitting at a small airport in Franklin, Va.

Its an old WWII B-25 bomber.
There aren't many of these left.
So when an official at the airport told me that it was OK for me to look at it up close, I gladly jumped at the chance.
I looked it over and took several PICS.
The bomb bay doors were open so I ducked under to peek inside.
Can you imagine me surprise when I saw these staring me in the face?
A few hours later I had reached my destination.
I had picked Sandbridge Beach, VA because I had never been there before.
It turns out that Sandbridge is a very quaint little beach town.
I decided to explore a little before I found somewhere to eat.
I ran out of road at Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge.

It seemed like a pretty neat place. I'll have to come back sometime and check it out a little more.
I figured that since I was at the beach I'd park and check out the ocean.

Yep, it's still there

Finally, I found somewhere to eat.

This is one of only two restaurants there and the other one was closed.
So, I'd had my fresh seafood for lunch and it was time to head for home.
Total trip for the day 549 mi and I never left the "back yard".
