The Yooper Event 2024 is returning to Newberry, MI. July 26 - 27, 2024.

Postponed due to family emergency - Theresa’s son hospitalized on life-support
Details below…
With a heavy heart we have to unfortunately postpone the Yooper Ride until 2025, sorry, but there is a serious emergency involving Theresa’s son Vinnie. He is on life support & the prognosis is uncertain. Doctors are busy scheduling all sorts of tests to figure out what is happening. We were SO looking forward to this much needed vacation and the picture rocks spray cruise! Theresa is quite broken up and told me to go on without her, she needs me here, it’s going to be an eventful week of doctors and decisions. We are sorry if this causes issues for our out of town visitors and I have not released the block of rooms at the Evening StarMotel, please go have fun if so inclined & keep Theresa & Vinnie in your thoughts smitten : please be safe, friends, :we need to be close to our area hospitals for now… cooldude:

Just a note, we live in Newberry, SC but, by chance, we traveled through Newberry MI a few years back. It was a very nice place. Had lunch there (I forget the restaurant but If I remember, it was close to the Railroad Tracks).
Enjoy the get together.

Yes, Carolina, very nice area,near Oswald's beaRanch Taquomenom Falls, Ssounds like you probably stopped at Timber Charlie's on Main St next to the tracks.
Just south of there is motel where we stay...
Newberry SC is a lovely area as well, I’m sure, hope to make it down your way to see for myself coolsmiley :c

Now to let Tour Director/Ride Captain Evan know: we are booked for 11am cruise on Saturday :cooldude I see a few sticky points: 11am in Munising requires early start- fine by me  Big Hair Chick gonna need a pot of coffee. Cell service at boarding will be awful, take photos of e- tix. They have complimentary kennel Grizwold will hafta to be top dog |

Google says allow 95 minutes which, if we get there at 10 (suggested to get good seat on boat) means take off from Newberry no later than 8:20 am with full tank of gas
It is so freakin hot and humid in the Bronx and here in Ossining, cant wait to get some cooler weather in the UP
We are also looking into the ferry to mackinac island (sp?) on friday morning or sunday morning
Less than a month to go ! Betya Griz is real excited
