Jerry & Sherry Sheffer

If you came to the Jerry and Sherry Valkyrie parties then you might remember two white fur balls named Cake and Trixie, our Maltese dogs.  Well on Thursday we let Cake go he was 16y 3m old and Trixie had passed about 5 years ago.  We are charting a new course as after 31 years, we for the first time are without a dog (or two or three) and do not plan on having another for a few years, many who know us  say we can’t, we will see. Looking forward to traveling without the need to find someone to watch them. Anyway, we now have a Valkyrie Tourer to use for InZane Norway thanks to Per-Arne and Else. We also have two places with motorcycles to ride in Sweden, looking forward to this trip.

Very sorry to hear about Cake, and I understand the difficulty. We have been without a dog since February 2013, and have no solid plans for another for a few years.

Undecided Bummer to hear about losing Cake. 16+ years is a great time sharing with man's best friend. We had our JRK for 17+ so I know how you feel. We put her down 5 yrs ago and still not replaced her. Have a wonderful Norway InZane. Getting use to the Valkyrie again will be fun. You might even find yourself looking for one when you get back.  Roll Eyes

Jerry, it's really hard to replace a family member. Especially when they have been around that long. I do remember them at the cottage.
Ride safe and have a great time over there. Hope to see some pics.

Sorry to hear. It is difficult not to have any pets. Kim and I have been pet free for a month now. Our Jake passed and we rehomed the chickens and ducks, nothing to come home to for the first time in our lives. We’ll definitely get more after we move.
I know y’all are going to have a wonderful time traveling, always hear great stories. And when the time is right, you’ll have another family member. Ride safe, post pictures.

I remember both your puppies, they were part of our get togethers at the cottage. I put the name tag on one of them, just like we had to. Lol.
I’m sorry for your loss, pets have a way of becoming family and the loss hits just as hard as human loss. Time heals all, but memories last for ever.

Yes indeed, just a little time is correct. Tomorrow it will be a week already, and that week flew by! We have plenty of pictures for the memories. Also neither Sherry or I has mentioned anything about looking for a puppy, shoot, with many comments here and Greg and Sandy as well, it looks like many in our age category either take a break or do not go back to dog ownership at all. I worry what the price to buy and care for another dog will be, as every vet run is $300 or more now!  Anyway, I knew many remembered our furry white kids so the reason I wanted to post.  Jeeze it was June 11th 2021 that we sold the Valk clubhouse. I think time has shifted into fifth gear ⚙️ of six! About the time we lost Grumpy.  The Brevity Of Life!
