It's been a long time since I've ordered this seal so though I'd check here to see if I have the correct p/n. Looks like it's...91206-286-013, is that correct?

Yup just checked my last order for one 91206-286-013 is correct. I also purchased a shifter buddy to hopefully prevent having to replace it again. He only sells them through Facebook, this is the group he runs that you can ask questions on https://www.facebook.com/groups/474127493287210/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT
Steven Cain and Chuck Lane are the guys that make them

The ones on eBay are knock offs, I almost bought one as well but luckily after making a post on the Valkyrie group on FB I learned about it. This is a quote from Steve Cain himself that makes the shifter buddy.
Quote
Yes the eBay shifter support is a copy of our Shifter Buddy, the dimensions a little off which this miss alignment could cause problems in the future, will it work, sure. The copy started in Belarus Russia, then I believe it was sold to a chinese company and these are sold on eBay for pennies with a seal. Wrong dimensions and miss alignment of the shifter shafts.
I personally went with an OEM seal and the original shifter buddy. No sense in messing around with cheap chinese stuff, I'd rather support the guy who came up with them even if they were exactly the same.

IMO zero need for one... it's a $5 seal, you'd need to replace 10 of the cursed things to make it useful.
As far as shifting, give it a firm shift and you won't have an issue...¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I just dont like all that slop, the shifter buddy makes gives you a much more crisp firm shift. Not having to worry about the shaft seal leaking is just an added bonus.

I agree. I have the one made by Steve the dude that created the self canceling blinkers. Both his products are genius and I agree shifting is crisp and sure. No more missing second gear or hunting for neutral and if the oil seal lasts longer well that is an added bonus as stated.

The Valk blinker switch may be one of the few low points of the bike.  When I turn in traffic I am watching everything and everyone, and then I forget to turn them off, sometimes for too long (forehead smack).  I often let following drivers behind me see 3-4 blinks, then turn them off with my thumb still on the switch.  But not traffic ahead.  Had self cancelling on a couple other bikes (never work as a well as on cages, but good enough).

So there's a self canceling upgrade for the Valk signal switch?  Do you need to be an electrician to install them?

For Joe and Jess. It was Steve, his handle is Jersey I think. He named it SigEnhancer but later I think it was referred to as the signal boss. I am not sure if he will sell anymore, I think I remember him saying he was not making anymore. I thought you knew about this Jess?!?

It was plug and play inside the headlight bucket but you have to make a weird modification to the switch which is the hardest part to get right

His device gives you programmable self cancelling turn signals plus four way flashers and escort flashers. The coolest thing is if you pull up to a stop light, as long as you have a brake on or the bike in neutral, the  blinkers won’t cancel

I thought you knew about this Jess?!?

I suppose I read about them some time ago Jeff.  Forgot.

No headlight bucket on the Interstates; so fairing off?  This would be beyond my skill set.

And I never leave my signals on waiting in line to turn, everyone in that line is turning.  I'll flip them on when it's my turn to turn, if there is oncoming traffic.  Leaving them on for long minutes allows me to forget they're on; I try to use them only when needed and keep my thumb over the button.

Over the years, I've gotten better at not leaving them on, but it still aggravates the heck out of me looking down and seeing they've been on for 10 minutes.   crazy2   The Interstate blinking indicator is nearly invisible in daylight.

I've even thought about putting a small piece of tape inside the fairing that reads "Signals Dumbass."

The shifter supports that are sold on eBay are a Chinese knockoff of my Shifter Buddy, the dimensions are not correct and could cause wear to the engine case or other components for being out of alignment. We do not sell on eBay, only FB.

For the interstate you don’t have to remove the faring but you have to remove two rear facing panels to gain access to the connectors

On my two wheel Valk some years ago I adapted Harley handlebar controls to the bike. They have separate turn signal buttons...left turn on the left side and right turn on the right side(as it should be). Works great, and I was then able to install a self-cancelling module I believe was made by Custom Dynamics if memory serves. Press the turn button for a second and it goes off in about 10 seconds. Press it for a couple seconds and it goes for 20 seconds, and for seconds will give you 90 seconds of flashing. Won't time out if you're on the brake, and has emergency flashing as well. Re. Steve's self-cancelling unit, I had to remove it but left the turn switch mod in place on my trike which has the OEM controls. That allowed me to install a similar module as mentioned above except now since his switch mod is still in place I don't have to keep checking to see if I turned off that switch. Both systems work great and I'm giving serious thought to changing the trike over to HD controls since they've worked perfect for 15 yrs. or more on the 2-wheeler...which, by the way, is going up for sale in the near future.

CORRECTION: The module is from Signal Dynamics, not Custom Dynamics.

Jess on the I/S the fairing can be rolled forward and up a bit. If you'll look at the mounting bolts for the fairing loosen slightly all four bolts. Pivot forward and up from the Bottom bolts. When forward and up Tighten the Upper bolts on Both sides. Even I'm capable of changing out the head light bulbs with my oversize arthritic paws!  2funny RIDE SAFE.

I'm not installing a signal canceller Dennis.

And I've always been able to reach in (blind) and swap bulbs.  With a lot of swearing.  And a clean rag so the bulb isn't covered with fingerprints, leading to early demise.  Hopefully, the LEDs in there now last forever.   Grin
