I understand. Not sure how the video was made but I get it and would love to be that kid. I remember when I was first allowed to just take the bike out and go ride without asking permission and could spend the whole day out in the woods just having a blast.

I used to ride for miles when I was younger, with the Valk I can get on and go and start looking around and just begin to smile. I can so much relate to that kid. The video I believe is in the salt flats of California. I have seen them before like this, nothing but the water and sky reflected in the water.

I saw this at the Tractor Supply today, and stood there looking at it and thinking how much fun it might be. The 200 cc is only rated to go 23MPH (low gearing), but guys have modded it to go 60+. I could have just used my credit card and taken it home in my van. But these things are not street legal in VA and they will ticket you for being on public roads. So I didn't get one. :'(

Do my eyes deceive me or is that a pull start? It’s like a big mini bike. I like it. Yup, a mini bike. My brother and I back in the 60's chopped up our sisters banana seat bicycle and mounted a Briggs & Stratton with a centrifugal clutch. Can't remember where we sourced the wheels, but it could have been some neighbors lawn tractor. Dad was a little pissed at us when she went crying to him, but we said, she hasn't ridden it in years. It was probably just that year. I think he was impressed because he had no mechanical skills at all. We rode it around a lot until one day the throttle stuck while a buddy was on it. He instinctively laid it on its side with the motor WFO. My brother jumped on it, it took off down the hill into the road and all we could see was some smoke and my brother running up the hill holding his mouth and blood gushing out. One of my oldest sisters boyfriend won't let him in his car ( I don't blame him, it was a white on white Chevelle) to take him to the hospital, so my sister put him in her VW bug and off they go. My buddies and I are left standing there. We get the mini bike out if the road and I look down and there is two complete front teeth on the ground. Mrs Flynn from next down comes over to see the doings and I show her the teeth and she turns green and tail. Not knowing what to do, I put the teeth in a Dixie cup of hydrogen peroxide in our bathroom and me and my buddies go. About an hour later, my older sister tracks me down and asks were the teeth were. I told her, she retrieved them, off to the hospital and they put them back in. They took and he keep them till some guy sucker punched him and knocked them out 2nd time for good.

Kook#3287 I KNOW I shouldn't have BUT I was cursed near rollin around on the floor I was laughing so HARD! And HAPPY I'd put my coffee down BEFORE readin yer reply. As kids most of us that dared experiment bounced back pretty quick after something like that. What usually hurt worse was the butt whippin at home cuz NO HOW NO WAY was any of THAT being kept from the Parents! Been out in the sun a bit here and as my skin darkens the scars become more visible. Some I can NOT seem to recall the Where and When but it were either havin fun or working scars. Found out in Japan at Mt. Fuji volcanic ash on the motocross course do not taste good at all! RIDE SAFE.

Do my eyes deceive me or is that a pull start? It’s like a big mini bike. I like it. Yes, it's a fat tire 200cc pull start minibike. And I live in a giant subdivision it would be fun to ride around in. There's at least 3-4 other ones I've seen riding around, once in a while. You can't use the sidewalks, and the streets are not legal, though I think if you were just putting around at or under the 25mph limit you might not get a ticket, but you might get 3 (and since Covid the only cops I've seen in 3 years are on calls - so no routine patrol at all). And there must be a half dozen little electric 4-wheel cars being driven around on grass, walks and streets at like 2mph by 2-6 year olds with parents walking behind. This is really catching on, and I mean the kids can't even fully talk yet but are driving around in little electric cars. Here's my VA rule: If a moped/scooter has a motor that displaces more than 50 CCs, it is considered a motorcycle. You would then need to comply with all vehicle registration, insurance and inspection requirements, and driver licensing laws as motorcycles. I have the MC endorsement, but the hell with the rest of that. I'd get (car) taxed on another motorcycle too. (maybe I could scrape the 200 cc stickers off and get a couple 49-50CC stickers and replace them) There really aren't any trails to ride on close by, though plenty of woods but they are all tangleweed, heavy undergrowth, swamp and trees so no good riding there. $6-7 hundred for a minibike toy. I would definitely do it if I didn't have to worry about being an outlaw, or had good trails nearby (without transporting it). Bill, that is a great story. My brother beat my folks Honda 70 up so bad it was practically destroyed (they tied it to the deck of their sailboat so they could get around all the places they sailed to around Lake Erie - (Canada and US). It was a street legal machine, 3 speed automatic)

You'd be the cool outlaw guys and get all the babes!

Most (but not all) of the babes in my neighborhood are grandmas, not that there's anything wrong with that. Like the little Asian lady who suggested she move in with me. I think her offer was more about her being the sole person who took care of, cleaned, changed, fed multiple children and did all the housework at her home, rather than an offer of friendly relations (which would still be less work than she had at home). And I asked if her 2-3 sons would be unhappy with me if she moved in with me, and she said yes, they would probably come over and want to fight you. What could happen is: A ticket for no registration and plate, a ticket for no insurance, a ticket for no inspection, and maybe a mandatory court appearance...... and turned over to the county personal property division for back personal property taxes (plus interest and penalties). Which takes the fun right out of the whole idea.

This is what you need/want? 1970 Honda CT70; I’ve owned for 25+ years now. 1st gear will pull you through a field, top speed of about 35mph, titled licensed and street legal. I bought it for $20 back then; non running, broken rear hub, and beat up paint. I think I owned a dozen of these over the years, flipping them back on the market once they were running. Not any more though, even the non runners have gotten expensive. But if you find a beautiful one, I think it will hold value.

Well yeah I'd like one, but the whole idea of a minibike is to not have something the state turns into a revenue generator. My folks had one just like that, except red. I was still at home with my BSA 650 Lightning, and they both got the bug, so mom ended up with a Harley tagged (but Italian made) 125cc 2-stroke Rapido (which was way too torquey for her). Then they got a pair of matching Honda 360 inline twins, and even took trips on them. Dad was good, but mom was only OK (and a shorty) and had a few spills, so dad sold them both to save her life (over her objections). I don't want another bike that has to be registered, tagged, insured, inspected, and taxed as personal property in VA. Once up on a time, I had 5, and it was just too many to maintain and pay taxes on. And the 5th.
