I'm considering buying one from carmax, shes real pretty and the price is right and low miles just never really heard of one. I might of seen one a long time ago but forgot about them,well my lease is up this month and I'm going to buy this time but just cant stand the prices and the new dealer ships, carmax looks like the way I'm going to go. Any pros or cons on these Lincoln trucks?

I've seen several around Central Florida...seems that they were all black....maybe thats one reason they were called Blackwood  They are pretty fancy looking trucks

I have seen one or two rolling down the road...never up close and personal. Orange County Choppers made a bike after the Mark LT a couple of years ago. I believe it and the Blackwood are pretty similar. Personally, I I would just go with a F150 Supercrew and outfit it like I wanted it. You would probably end up with the same amount of money into it.

It's basically a rebadged F-150. Most of the parts will transfer.

Ford (aka Lincoln) made them for two years. They were never intended to haul anything more than golf clubs (or drugs and guns). They sold well in areas were gangs controlled the local drug trade. They were quite popular in Detroits inner city. It was sort of an alternative to the Caddilac Escalade.

Well I don't do drugs,don't golf, but have been know to carry a gun a time or two, so I guess I fit into 1/3 of the stereotype.

1/3%er  I'd forgotten about those trucks. I thought the link would take us to a Lincoln or Cadillac flower truck, which were built like hearses from the frame up, they were designated to carry flowers and what not. They looked sorta like El Caminos with extra rails on the bed sides. That would be neat to have, but just because I'm letting go of my Hearse and I think another funeral car would be fun sometime in the future.

I understand they aren't "work" trucks, but don't they still have a solid rear axle and the "ability" to haul (like any other 1/2 ton 2wd?)

I wouldn't call it a truck. Its more of a 'hey I'm rich and want to drive a truck to look cool' kinda truck. I seen white and black ones around here. No offence, but its more of a yuppie or RUB vehicle.

Mechanical parts won't be a problem, it is just a Ford p/u. But if you ever need any body parts good luck finding them. It is almost a 10 year old truck remember.

He lives in Vegas, a Lincoln is just a grocery getter in the land of Mercedes, Jags, Maybachs and Lamborghini's! You need a big safe vehicle in Vegas, those cell phone drivers are crazy out there (see picture of daughter below on three phones doing 75 on I215). Raymond Ok OK, I lied a little, she was only using two phones at once and I made her grab mine just for the picture.

I think 2002 was the only year they were made. They sold poorly, at least at our dealership. It is a complete mechanical twin to the same body F150, of course with extra Lincoln farkles  . The bed was lined with a fancy carpet and has a locked hard shell cap factory installed, kinda makes like a HUGE trunk. I don't think you'll want to haul any compost for the garden it it!  Only came in black with a pinstriped bed. If you are concerned with parts prices & upkeep on a truck like this, maybe you should look at a less fancy truck & save some $$$ for future maintainence. It is a luxury truck & lots of the gadgets are expensive to fix. That is if the gadget parts are even available anymore. I see more & more parts being dropped by Ford lately than ever before. The "law" that parts must be kept available for 10 years by the mfg is an urban myth. Only emission & safety parts {seatbelts, etc.} are mandated to be supplied by the mfg for any length of time past OEM warranty period. There is nothing wrong with the Blackwood other than being a little funky & being low production. As 20+ years of Ford parts experience teaches me, low production numbers do make parts harder to find sooner rather than later.

Nice ride...golf clubs...split tail gate...more of a yuppie pick up...wine, cheese and crackers...and attending horse shows...steeplechase sort of thing...Lincoln should have thought that one out a little more...
Most parts you can swap with FORD...I think they all had the 4.6L V8...

... and stupid looking chrome trim running around the bed about 6 inches apart. lines of them. stupid looking, but its an f-150 and I have done some climate control heads in them. heater cores(easy) and some other electronic chasers. buy an f 150 xlt and save alot of money and trouble if you wreck it...
