Im on a ride right now istaying in Russelville Arkansas.    I once rode a road that runs a ridge between Oklahoma and Arkansas in the Lake Wilamena area.  Anybody know the hyway number?   The road runs a ridge that you can see down on both sides of the road.  Would like to run that road again.  Anybody familiar with that road?

Are you thinking of Hyw #23 the Pig Trail scenic by-way?
Or maybe Hyw #43.

Not sure if this is the road you have in mind but it say its AR 88.   We have been down that road a couple of times.  Last time was last year but the weather kept us from taking the road all the way to the end of the Talimena Trail.  

Here is the route we were taking.




I just noticed, the image has to be "scrolled" to see the full route.  Initially only shows the Western part.

Talimena Scenic Byway from Mena, Arkansas to Talihina, Oklahoma.  AR 88 (Arkansas) SH-1 (Oklahoma).  A ride not to be missed.

I bet it's Talimena Scenic drive your talking about like a few others have suggested.  We try to run it every year or so.  Best time to go is late October or early November when the fall foliage is at peak, just depends on the year but it's beautiful if you catch it at the right time.
