Gary and I took a ride today to Smokehaus BBQ in Dublin, NH. It's on NH Route 101 on the west bound side.

We met in Lancaster, MA and were on the road a little after 10:30. There's lots of different routes to get there. We opted for an all back roads twisty, up and down route. In particular coming west bound on Route 124 into Jaffrey, NH provides a spectacular view of Mount Monadnock.

We arrived at the Smokehaus a little after 11:30 and were the only customers there. The interior is best describe as up-scale country, complete with a country music sound track. It's not your typical dive BBQ place. Here's a pic of Gary at the counter placing his order.

I got a brisket sandwich and a side of bake beans. Both were good. The brisket was flavorful, moist and tender with just the right amount of fat for me. Gary got a half rack of ribs, 2 sides and a piece of corn bread. He said it was good. We both agreed we'd come back.

After lunch, we headed west on Route 101 and decided to dip our toes into VT. From 101 to 9 to VT 5 to Brattleboro and then VT 142 down along the CT river to the Mass border. That is a beautiful up/down twisty ride. On the way home we did a rest stop in Petersham, MA to stretch our old bones and hydrate. It was hot!

Gotta park the bike for the next few days. Lots of yard work to do. Enjoy the warm WX while we've got it. Next week currently looks rainy.

Nice you and Gary were able to get out for a ride and to enjoy each other's company.
Did anyone think to text the school Bernie works at, and excuse him for the day so he could also ride ??

I'm looking forward to Bernie's retirement. I enjoy our North Shore rides.  Wink

Maybe it's my iPad, but the website does not have a address that I could find.

I recently visited Goody Coles in Brentwood NH and it was excellent.

Good destination RTE.

Good report Tony, and a great ride. We need to get more people retired to join us on our mid week rides.

Tony gave me some instructions on how to post pics on this site during out lunch stop. So here is a test to determine how good of a teacher he is.

13 Main Street, Dublin NH. It's on route 101 on the west bound side. It's well signed so it's easy to spot.

Been to Goody Coles a for a couple of RTEs. It's good, but I found it's hit or miss on its brisket.

It works! That's a vintage pic. It looks like DC's memorial service at the West Cemetery in Ashby, MA.
