The Landmass Between Mobile And New Orleans

« on: February 11, 2010, 09:53:25 AM »

They've forecast 1-2 inches of snow for South East Mississippi and South Alabama.  Plus I need hot cocoa, snacks and a couple of movies to get me through tonight.  It will probably be gone by Friday night.  We usually don't lose power when we do get the nasty white stuff but if we do, I'll haul out the generator and pile the critters in the bed with me.  Hopefully they won't fight.

They've revised the forecast already.  They're now saying not if but when we do it will be 2-4 inches and 1-2 inches along the coast.  Schoolas are already announcing shutdowns for tomorrow.  I looked at the Weather Channel website and they're saying snow will start sometime after midnite and will end sometime tomorrow afternoon.

I never have understood the "bread and milk" thing. Sure getting groceries and firewood, not to mention adult beverages makes sense. but why bread and milk?   ???

Just curious.  Smiley

I don't either but everytime there is some weather emergency it seems like bread and milk become as scarce as hair on my head.

We got some Hoar frost around here thicker then 1 -2 inches. I sure hope you all can cope with all that snow!  Shocked

The only snow we get on a regular basis is in snowcones.  However, the bread and milk buying will have to wait until the Gatorade Duel 125s are over with.  Got to have my priorities.

We still have snow in the freezer left from the last snow storm...we like snow cream and rarely get snowfalls. Now they're calling for a big snow maker coming up on a Southern Axis, heading through town sometime soon.

By the time the 2nd race in the Gatorade Duel was over, it was already sleeting here.  Considering 99% of the people here don't know how to drive in freezing conditions, I wasn't going to chance it.
Just heard the updated forecast and they've pushed back the snow until dawn but it's already snowing in Warlock's neck of the woods and soon should be snowing in Sweet Tea and Punisher's.

Yeah, our snow here in Iowa should be gone by Friday too. I think June 11th is a Friday....
