My truck is a 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 with a 4.8 v-8. It has 265000 miles. I drive a lot in Wisconsin as I have property in two states about 300 miles apart. If I fuel at Kwiktrip , I get 15.5 to 16.2 mpg. If I fuel at Woodmans (chain store) I get 16.1 to 17.5 mpg. If I fuel at BP , I get 17.2 to 19.1. I most always use cruise control. I drive the same most of the time. I started checking and recording about two years ago. I also checked on the Valk (now, it's related) , and BP is about 2 to 3 miles per gallon better.

IMHO get an Ethanol percentage tester and see if BP might use a lower percentage of the corn crap in their fuel...
I've noticed the signage says E10 "May contain up to 10%" not that it DOES contain 10%...

I don't know the phone app but I've gone to listings for corn free gasoline. 100% corn free and it feels like a NEW MOTORCYCLE! da prez and I hit a corn free fuel stop after the Dragon in 14? and both of us could feel a difference according to the ol butt dyno! RIDE SAFE.

I do my routine, local fillups with non-ethanol gas, just to keep out of the tank. If I was on a roadtrip - I'd look for non ethanol, but would settle for what I could find.

Around here, the only non-ethenol gas is 91 octane and anywhere from 75 to 90 cents more per gallon. I've always gotten better mpg with the top tier gas like Philips, BP or Shell. I run 87 octane all summer and switch to 91 in the fall until storage. Never noticed any difference in performance on either bike. Mileage might be a touch better on 91, but I can't prove it.

I recall making a few trips west from Orlando to my daughter's place in Louisiana. I could usually make it to the Florida border at the west end of the panhandle, running right at 70 with the a/c on. And I'd be getting 23-24mpg, done by monitoring the dash display which isn't exact but gives you an indication at least. Once crossing into Alabama I could get ethanol free regular so would fill up ASAP. Usually at my favorite station there involved a wait due to lines at the pumps...that tells you a big story about how much people liked the liquored up junk. So once gassed up and back on I-10 westbound, I would wait about 50 miles and then check the dash panel display. At the same speed with the a/c on my mileage display would now show 26-28mpg, the highway is fairly flat all the way so the readings were fairly steady. At the time, ethanol free around Orlando was almost nonexistent so I'm assuming some of the increase may have been due to internal clean up from both fuel and city driving. But a 3-4mpg increase is hard to ignore. I had made other long trips with the same results, keeping in mind any trip out of the Florida peninsula is a long "trip."

I stopped at Buc-ees today for fuel and regular ethanol was $3.17 and the ethanol free was $3.19. Guess what I filled up with? Filled 3, 5 gallon cans too!

I try to almost always use Top Tier gasoline. I can see a difference in mileage when I fill with something else.

An interesting listing and good data. It would also be interesting to note the cost per mile. That would support what Willow suggested in that the ethanol content might vary among the sources you documented. I suspect that higher ethanol content would mean lower miles per gallon. Not having ever checked it but I would suspect that more ethanol per gallon would lower the overall cost per gallon.

Miles per dollar? Regular unleaded here is always 10% ethanol. Pure ethanol has 66% of the energy of gasoline. So pure gas has 3.5% more energy than E10 blend. In practice, my Valkyrie gets an extra 1 mpg when I switch from E10 to pure gas.
Here, pure gas will cost at least 25% more, so getting 3.5 % better milage is no bargain.
There are reasons to prefer pure gasoline over E10, but the cost difference means I stick with E10 in my V-8 truck.

I have a BP credit card when you get one the first three months you save 30 cents a gallon after that you save.15 cents per gallon forever. I enjoy inserting the card and watching the price drop 15 cents

I burn corn free as much as possible in my Interstate no matter the cost. In South Dakota last month I found some small fuel stations with three fuels, 87 with corn, 87 without corn and diesel. If corn is my only choice, at my next fill up without corn I will run on reserve to use from the bottom of the tank to get rid of any water that may have accumulated. I never have paid much attention to the mileage on my Valkyrie, I focus on maintenance, safety, and longevity.
All my other vehicles are diesel. I do not use diesel fuel with soybean unless nothing else would be available however I have not seen soybean in diesel for quite some time.

Me too, with both my Interstates. Last few times over $4 a gallon (oh well).
Not one drop of ethanol in either for several years, but I may have to use some corn polluted gas on an upcoming trip. It's OK if it it gets run right through (and not stored sitting).

could it be that at BP gas stations you fill up the trip is mostly downhill vs. say at kwik trip stops the elevation goes uphill mostly? Also, wind direction plays a slight role as well if windy out fighting the wind can decrease mpg by 1 mpg or so
I get 95% of my gas at Costco since for some reason they are always cheaper than kwik trips, etc. by about 10-15 cents cheaper per gallon in my area. filling up weekly in vehicles is a must to save every dime I can. Oil changes every 4-5 months on 4 vehicles I stock up on oil as well.

I just got back from Wisconsin. I went mainly west. The BP fuel in the truck gave me 18.4 mpg. 381.6 miles and 20.669 gallons. 18.4 mpg. There is a difference in fuel. Also , $3.319 was paid , but I later saw it for $3.09.
