stopped here at a hampton inn just east of where 76 hits 80 (Niles- Youngstown area)

Could not focus any longer with the heat but at least no winds  

how do you texans do it ?  Even soaking the doorag in ice water wasnt enough for this old man

400 more to go tomorrow but it wont be so hot and the boomers will be over

could only manage 7 hrs today and a good hour was sittin in ac at truck stops

Yesterday I left while farside was eatin breakfast

He passed me by on his way to florida with his friend (on a harley?) as i was merging onto 74 after a gas break   They had the hammer down in a good cross wind and I lost them in the truck traffic

650 miles is a very respectable day.    Thats a long ways.

Digger I was TRYING to make it to Elkhart but hit my wall  In past years I made it to that much further
but not now

I was told there are bold riders and old riders but not that many old bold riders

A man should know his own ability to focus and if you lose that even for an instant
you could ruin your day (and that of your family)

Fortunately when I stepped out of the hotel on Sunday morning
  Hairyteeth (Mark Patterson) was out front and he
led a spirited ride to GZ 80 to 20 to Dubuque  He lives off mile 64 on the Ohio Tpk

The only time I was really concerned was crossing the Mississippi in a bracing cross wind  just ride the ride you are comfortable with
