I was pleasantly surprised that ethanol-free fuel was widely available in Dubuque. I thought that with all those corn farmers ethanol would be everywhere. But in fact, the Hy-Vee station on the south end of downtown carried two ethanol-free grades, 87 and 91 octane. Maybe it has something to do with all the boats in the area.

On my trip, I noticed some pumps in Nebraska with orange labels. They were for E-15 blends. That's way too much corn!

I got a flex fuel F150 and can burn E85.
I have burned both E85 and Regular and carefully kept track of the cost and the mileage.
You save some cost on E85 but suffer 3mpg in mileage.

I even found 3 grades of Ethanol Free gas at one station.  I have never seen that here in the Republic of Texas.

Usually 87 and 91 non corn offered most places but if the pumps are close to Interstate 65, 10% ethanol. Got to go further in the city to get non corn but you still have pay attention to labels on the pump. Now out in the counties where agriculture is more prevalent, mostly non corn. I use Excel Coop/Co Alliance primarily or Shell when I can. Shell consistently has given me 2 mi. per gallon better on my ZR7, VT1100C and the Valk over the years.

Listings for NJ are for 91 octane and higher. Most are airports. Can the public buy fuel at airports?

We used to buy 101 and 104 at the airports to run in our stock cars. Not sure it's legal for on road use being that there is no road fuel tax on it.

Couple I know have a mid teens Chevy pickup with the E 85 flex fuel option and he reports similar loss of MPG and Performance. RIDE SAFE.

I have the hot honda civic and put a flex fuel kit on it for the incredible horsepower gains. E85 is very high in octane and high compression turbo engines love it. Mileage does decrease but the fun factor plays into that.

E85 won't do anything to your Valk as long as your riding. Use ethanol free when storing.

Did you mean E10? Not sure how well E85 would work in a Valk? (But I could be way off here)
