The wife and I went first time to Brenham Texas to the Bluebonnet Opry House.    They play 50s-80s country music.   Not a big event but was very enjoyable.  Crowd was 210 people (mostly in their 60s-100s) at $10 a person.   Two performers sang their country music hearts out.   We went because we are friends with one of the singers named Margie LeBlanc.   She can sure sing good.  Specializes in Patsy Cline songs.    While there we saw Genie C Riley who was the old time singer who sang " Harper Valley PTA".    She is older now and doesnt perform anymore.   She lives in Brenham.   Good time was had by all.

We saw Jeannie perform at a small venue in 1973-74. She put on a good show and during intermission she was seated at a table to sign pictures for the folks who wanted to purchase one. We were in line to get one signed and my Wife edged ahead and said something to Jeannie. When I got to her, she asked if I was Doug. Uh,huh was about all I could muster but she smiled and said "Happy Birthday" which it was. Then she signed the pic with a Happy Birthday greeting on it. I saw that pic a few days ago in one of my dresser drawers. Jeannie seemed to be a real pleasant person.  smitten
