Last night the forecast was for rain on and off for most of today. My plan was to have breakfast then ride up to the local IGA to get a bottle or two of wine and some cheese and crackers and just sit on the porch of the Inn just like Kathy and I would do. After paying for breakfast it was still not raining so I headed to the room to get the bike keys and my helmet. In the three minutes that took, it started raining. Not misting, not spitting, not sprinkling, but raining. I could almost hear Kathy's voice say "not without me you don't."
So, here I sit, on the porch, with an ice tea, watching the rain.
PS, the only time it has rained here the four days I've been here.

Hope your trip home is/was rain free. But today and the distance you have/had to travel, that may be impossible. Ride safe.

Weather report this morning for the western side of Maine down thru N.H. is showing a scattering of pop up showers...Hopefully Wally can be on the dry side of those pop ups...

Safe roads Paul....

I waited til around 2pm and the rain stopped and the roads dried. I had a bottle of wine (Seaglass Chardonnay) one of Kathy's favorites, and some artisan extra sharp cheddar, pepperoni slices and buttery crackers.
I came home on Sunday. It was a great ride. I took 16 out of Rangeley over to Errol, NH. In Errol there is a stretch of Route 16 called 13 Mile Woods. Runs right along the Androscoggin River all the way to Berlin NH. Ended up on Rte 2 to Lancaster NH took some side roads and ended up on Rte 3. Jumped onto Rte 93 at Franconia Notch. By the time I got to Exit 23 traffic started to suck, and the road heat. I ended up going through Meredith, Wiers, then to Rte 106 past the race track. 393 over to Concord and then back roads to Rte 13 in Concord. Nice back roads the rest of the way home. Rte 13 in south of Goffstown follows a river for about 20 miles. Made it home around 3pm.
It was a great 5 day reconciliation. I am impressed with this bike, and I still love my wife, and that is getting easier to say and feel without side effects.

Great ride report! I've done that ride down 16 south from where it intersects route 26 in Errol. I agree that it's a beautiful ride down16 along the Androscoggin River to Gorham.
