Hello all, I have seen several threads on older vins, but what do we have as far as newest?    My '03 was built 8/02, with VIN number 600473.  Anyone know how many were built for the 03 model year? Anybody have a higher number?  Just curious.

Thanks.  Years ago the question came up:  Were all serial numbers in each range actually applied to a motorcycle?  Doesn't matter to me. It would be interesting to know how many Valkyries are still in-use.  Many bikes have been retired and some parted out.

Just for the record, mine appears to be the 1,655 model for the year 2023, 2003

I corrected the year.  But then, nobody seemed to notice.  Oh well.

I would have answered sooner, but it's not an easy answer.
Honda assigns a separate serial number range for each variant, i.e. there is a serial number 000001 California standard, a 000001 49-state model, a 000001 49-state Tourer, a 00001 California Tourer, a 000001 Canadian standard, etc.  Additionally, Honda increases the first number of the serial number by one for each model year for each variant (except the 2001 and on Standards), so the above serial numbers would have been assigned for the first year of production of each variant.  The second year for each of the above examples would be 100001 and the next year would be 200001, and so on.

Going through my database (and it's been a long time since I was actively seeking VIN's to add), here's what I have for newest US models.  I omitted the international models for brevity:

49-State Standard (1HFSC340)         301864
California Standard (1HFSC341)        300165
49-State Tourer (1HFSC343)              300788
California Tourer (1HFSC344)             300104
49-State Std, 2001 & On (1HFSC346)  601890  (first model year began with s/n 400001)
Ca Standard, 2001 & On (1HFSC347)   600179  (first model year began with s/n 400001)
49-State Interstate (1HFSC410)           201021
California Interstate (1HFSC411)          200046
Canadian Interstate (1HFSC412)          200273

... Is there a way this information can be retrieved and saved?

That information came from RP.
