This will lessen your fears, knowing it can only improve. Yes...it's a slow day in the Schmidt house. https://www.facebook.com/reel/3899490827039188

Thankfully MeTV, Insp and a couple others carry good old tv shows which keep me entertained even tho the commercials get to be a bit too much…now if they would carry the old tv commercials, that would be great, especially the car commercials and one of my favorites “Chuck Wagon” dog food…and I don’t even have a dog.

Havent watched Cheers in a long time. I loved that show. Couple years ago some tv channel played a whole lot of the Cheers episodes and I recorded them and watched them all. That show played for many years and with all the Cheers episodes you hardly ever see a rerun.

We rarely watch live TV. I have an external antenna and I can pickup four local station networks fully and one only during the day (don't know why its Channel 19 (CBS) its 500 MHz).
Sine I liked a couple of shows on CBS, at one time, we used to watch those shows, recorded.
For recording TV shows, I have a TiVo system. Allows one to skip commercials. One time cost for the unit, no annual charges.
Wife likes football and basketball (well use to on basketball) so we do watch these shows live when possible.
Since several of the shows we liked (well I liked) were on CBS, we subscribed to Paramount+ Its about $10 a month.
So we watch news in the morning, play music on the TV from Pandora in the late morning, early afternoon (whether we are home or not, its free), and switch back to news in the late afternoon.
In the evening we watch some of the old TV series on CBS (AKA Paramount) all commercial free.
Perry Mason MacGyver Criminal Minds Blue Bloods
Just to name a few without going to look them up. There are others.
There area many more available and all commercial free.
So, I don't mind paying the $10 a month even though it goes to CBS.
Also, TIVO allows us to watch some ETV shows, in particular the Antiques Roadshow. The Antiques Roadshow has suffered some since COVID but it's still interesting to see what people have in their possession.

Finishing up "In The Heat Of The Night" and just in time as MGM own's the series as of last week and wanting $$ after 7 free shows. Now this happening on my Amazon Prime account to add to the scenario. Recording off the Justice channel and hopefully to complete the series.

My latest guilty pleasure has been occasionally watching The Real McCoys. I just stumbled across it on my Roku devise and got to watch the very first episode which I had never seen. Back in the 60’s our tv reception was spotty at best especially in the summer. Out of 3 channels we were lucky to receive one with good clarity.

TV watching is something I try to limit.
I like football (college, not pro), and movies (old and new), and a few old TV shows. I watch Motor Trend cable channel for all the hot rod custom building shows, and to see and learn how they actually do the work. Except I can't stand Wheeler Dealers; the lead Brit is a scum bag con artist only interested in money, not automotive art. I quit the news, it's mostly propaganda spin, and the truth is nearly all bad all the time.
Commercials are worse than ever (I wouldn't watch TV at all if there was no mute button).
I have a hatred for drug commercials. The US and New Zealand are the only two countries on the planet that allow drug manufacturers to market prescription drugs directly to the public. I generally choose freedom over restriction, but allowing prescription drug advertising is WRONG (and highly lucrative).
Mostly, when I watch TV, I feel like some of my IQ has leaked out my ears.
I have a tremendous personal library, and used to read a book a week for decades. But I've slowed down considerably. I prefer to be outside doing things and working and walking and riding.
