It's been a long time since I've heard from or seen any of you, so I thought I'd check in and at least update you on what's happening in my life. A couple of years ago I bought a truck and truck camper and replaced the camper with a newer, larger model a few months back. I now spend most of my time camping in the western States and a summer in Canada, the Yukon and Alaska. I still have a bike, a little 400cc Kawasaki and unfortunately it's gathering dust in my garage. Winters are mostly in Buckeye and the occasional camping trip to Quartzite and Yuma to meet up with some of my nomad friends. All in all it's not a bad life and it will do me until my 2-wheeler becomes a wheelchair. I hope you are all doing well and please chime in and let us know how life is treating you. All the best my friends.

George: Sandy here. I still have the Valk but haven’t ridden it since May. Too bloody hot here. Just came back from the USVI to visit an old friend. Life is good.

I did take a 13 day ride with a group up into Idaho and Montana this past June.  I sold the sidecar to Dolar in July.  Dave (Big Mac)came out with Dolar and visited for a coupe of days.  I bought a new Jeep wrangler a year ago and have been doing some offroading and overland camping.  It has been too hot to do much riding.  I am waiting for cooler weather and thought I might post a meet-up at Anita's.  It would be good to see you guys.

Well you guys already know I trike my Goldwing and like all of you it is just too hot to be riding. I do some very early morning rides out to Bartlett lake just to get on the bike.(only 20 miles from my house one way) I also bought a new Jeep Wrangler Willys 2 door this summer(I have owned 2 different Wranglers for 20 years, but none in the last 8 years). I'm not a hardcore off-roader , but I have seen some dirt.  I have condos in Santa Fe NM and Overgaard AZ. Spent most of the summer in Santa Fe. My wife and I both love the opera and Santa Fe has and outstanding outside venue. Opera season is July and August. We go to Overgaard in the white mountains over some weekends., so we have escaped the heat a lot this summer. Last May we vacation in Croatia and Slovenia for 19 days and had a great time. We are schedule to go to Portugal and the Azores Islands in April of next year.  Yes I'm still f@@king working, but only about 2 hours a day and from home. Well that should bring me up to date. It was great to hear what you guys have been up to. A lot different then the old days of group rides. Take care everyone.

I have seen the movie Ron and am partially living that lifestyle, although I still have my sticks 'n bricks in Buckeye. It's not only an interesting lifestyle,  but also filled with interesting people with more than their fair share of quirkiness. The nomadic travel is mostly because both BLM and National Forest lands require that you move every 14 days or so, although many nomads bend the rules and stay longer.

I understand that most of the people that were in the film were real life nomads. I did find them to be interesting characters. Good for you that you are enjoy a different lifestyle.  cooldude

Yes,  Anita's is in Wickenberg.  Most of us have been there, so we know where it is.  It is Mexican Food and it is good.

Since there is an audience here, can someone tell me why I can't send PMs, and how to contact a moderator or "staff member"?  The classified section is frustrating enough not being able to post response, but not even having the ability to PM  tickedoff

So does no one know how to get hold of a mod?  I'd prefer not to got the swearing and trolling route to make contact with one of them Grin
