The app on my phone I've derived this information from is Wundergground Waether app. On 1 Sep 2024 it showed hours of daylight as 12 hrs 59 mins. Today 1 Oct 2024 it shows hours of daylight as 11 hrs and 47 mins. So 1 hr 12 mins Less dayligh and soon Sunrise Will be later and Sunset Will be earlier!  Lips Sealed And we've had quite a cool down from the high 90s low 100s and Soon a Lot of us Will Be grousin bout the ice and snow!  ick There WAS a time I looked forward to winter as there was Money to be made doing things some folks didn't wanna do and now I are one that Don't wanna do winter "stuff" no more!  tickedoff But winter here is some shorter than some of y'all North of me and a bit longer than some of y'all South of me. Soon yet another circle of the Sun by Mother Earth is completed. RIDE SAFE.

I'm done with winter, but I'm still here so it's not done with me yet.

Been in the Colorado High Country a time or 3 or more! These days with my breathing issues would NOT be safe for me to visit High Country again!  Lips Sealed  Cry RIDE SAFE.

yah,  October is sort of a bummer,  leave for work still near dark,  then drive home completely dark, not fun.  Just 2 months ago it was daylight until tad after 8 p.m., I liked that time of year more daylight hours to get stuff done when get home from work.  Now, I get home 650 p.m. and 10 minutes later is completely dark. I distinctly have not been a fan since I started having to do snow removal - best winters I've ever had was when I was stationed in Pensacola and Jacksonville FL. Raleigh NC area wasn't too bad , until we got 20 inches of snow in 24 hours (and I had a 120 feet long driveway ).

I have had the chance to live in various parts of the west and enjoy (suffer) winters.   One winter in the high country of AZ we had 3' of white fall over night.  Then in WY we had winter where we had a 13' drift in our back yard, only 4' in the front.  Susanville CA, we had 5' of snow fall over 2 and a half days.  Here in OR nothing like that has happened in the 14 winters so far.

Lots of shoveling went on.   But I too am getting where I don't need lots of snow at our home level.
