Woke up this morning wideawake at 4:30 am.  Hate it when I do that.   Checked the weather and it is a 69 degrees low and 90 high no rain.   Got my Valkyrie out about 6:30 am and hit some back roads with my favorite breakfast place in the middle in seally Texas.  (Tonys Restaurant).   Then hit some back roads.  Beautiful ride with perfect temps.   Anyways....unusual thing.... rode about 150 miles and did not see another motorcycle.  Not on the back roads...not in the towns....not at restaurants....and not at gas stations.....kinda unusual.

Turned  odometer 123,052 miles today

Dig,

You've got it going on, brother! I used to do rides very much like that in hot times of year when I stayed in Florida. Like you, I also noticed the absence of other riders during most of those rides. Oh well, some of us are simply eaten up with it, I reckon...  Grin

Unplanned rides early in the morning are my best rides....especially when a good breakfast is in the area.....cant beat Tony's in Seally Tex.   Daily special iwith coffee is a little over $12.   3 eggs cooked your way...4 slices of thick cut bacon....shredded hash browns.... and a large biscuit and jelly..... and coffee

Dig,

Ummmmmm! Sure sounds good! I used to stop in Sealy now and then... even hung out there briefly once upon a time. Some great memories, but I don't recall that particular cafe... Perhaps I'll give it a try if/when I breeze through next time... In the meantime, thanks for the mental trek and delightful feed images... Keep on keeping on, my friend, you've obviously got that special rider groove going on!

I like early rides too.  Mainly for lower temps and less traffic.

But if I eat a big breakfast like that, it puts me to sleep.

Sadly (and funny), much of my day rides are planned around places to take a leak.  I'm not a fan of hitting 711s and using their facilities without buying anything.  But I will walk around behind their dumpsters, this clump of trees, that deep drainage ditch.

One particular convenience store out in nowhere I hit almost every ride has no public facilities at all, but does have a portacan around the side.  It's the filthiest nasty portacan I ever saw, and never apparently cleaned (in 20 years).  I leave the door open to let out all the flies and improve the odor.   But I only pee there; IF I had to sit, I'd go in the woods like the bears.   2funny
