He is not going to  rerun for Congress this Fall.

Bayh has hung onto his seat for many years as a Democrat in a Republican state.  He's done some good BUT not lately.  He voted in lockstep with the Democratic party on health reform.  He would not have gotten my support or from many other Hoosiers this Fall and he knows it.

Now if only we could find a good candidate new to Washington politics.

No matter how I try, I cannot make this Valk related  Wink

I spent a total of about $100.00 of my own money when I ran and won four times as councilman.

Knocking on doors helped more than money, never even had to kiss babies. Grin

Now it would take at least 1 million bucks and name recognition to run for US Senate.  Besides my age, that would be 'way out of my class!

However, waiting in the wings is Dan Coates, a former Senator who lives in VA now, I believe, and is a lobbyist.  He is a Republican but looks like more of the same to me.  He's intending on becoming a staunch Hoosier shortly (again) and running for Bayh's seat (actually the Peoples seat as Scott so aptly said).  What a crock! Roll Eyes  (I spelled that right, crock)

Yep. Good news as far as I'm concerned. Now if Lugar would only follow suit. Birds of the same feather and neither one rides as far as I know. Smiley

Yep, I agree about Lugar too. Supposedly he's never missed a vote in the Senate BUT IMHO I think that he's more interested in foreign affairs, Indiana's welfare doesn't interest him much.

I think that he's still antigun but he keeps a low profile on that subject.
