2001 standard speedometer light burned out 23 yrs later. How do I get to it?

Small screw inside the trip meter roller. Remove the roller. Screw at the bottom of the speedometer case. Remove that. The light should be easily accessible.

Yes, the screw at the back of the chrome shell uncovers the back of the 'meter'
And for 'locking agent', do not use LocTite red, or you may never get it out again; even blue may be too strong. For screws this small I go for green or purple.

Got it. Thanks a lot all. It was easy. This is a great site for repairs. Will pick up the new lamp at the dealer tomorrow.

You can also replace it with a LED of a color of your choice.

Recommended. They are inexpensive enough you can get a few and experiment with which color you like best.
