You know, one of the reasons that bird never made it past the prototype stage was because the European allies were not too crazy of the name. Sorta like the Valkyrie being the F6 in europe, had a supposed nazi, hitler connection.  Another reason was ICBM development made it obsolete.  Sure was impressive, though.  cooldude Hoser

Notice how the names Honda gives its bikes are from US military jets?  Valkyrie, Saber, Blackbird, Nighthawk.  They could have named the Gold Wing the Galaxy.
I never heard that the Europeans didn't like the name Valkyrie.
