10-24-24 had the left hip joint replaced. Had it done at VA. Very modern facility. The before and after care was fantastic. Two hips and two shoulders. I keep getting called bionic. Real sore today , but I hope this is the last surgery. I tried remembering but  I think it has been 15 surgeries since 2010 when I got hurt on the job. Most were job related. Old2soon was in for surgery on the same day I was in for surgery . Luckly , at different hospitals. I am sure he will chime in. da prez |

Glad to see that you are functioning after the surgeries.
Doc told me several years ago that I was due to shoulder replacements. Thankfully haven't had real problems since then. Both have little or no cartilage and arthritis. Other than that, they are in good shape and only hurt when I overuse them. If lucky, might leave this world before they get replaced.

We live in a great moment in time don’t we? My bypass surgery will be 25 years ago in December. No joints yet! Looks like you’ll be ready for football tryouts by next season  ! Congrats on another successful surgery. |

I am sure he will chime in. da prez Modern medicine has made amazing strides the last hundred years or so. Happy for you that all those joint replacements are working out. My wife had both shoulders replaced last year and this year had her left hip replaced and is now going in for a right hip replacement soon. I'll soon be getting a new "Pace Maker" for my ticker. Simply amazing what medical science is able to do now. For me, it's not so much about the length of life but, the quality of life. Now, if I could only get a new "thinker" I'd be set. glad to hear hip surgery went well. Know first hand, especially 1st week, that my posterior (rear) hip surgery at least was brutal for me 1st few days walking/sitting/standing/poddy. Just glad my wife is around to help me out first 3 weeks now still needed.
A MUST to have is 3 foot long grab bars use it daily like when sitting on poddy unable to bend over to reach my shorts up have to use that 3 ft grab bar to push lever to squeeze the claw mechanism to raise and pick up items on or near the ground. Wife still has to put on my socks. Another must have is a 5 inch tall seat riser on top of poddy otherwise NO way sitting down on 17 or 16 inch tall toilet impossible since my right leg at knee would be over limit of 90 degrees allowed after hip surgery.
Just now entering 3rd week and finally able to lift both legs into shower to shower normally, that is good. Walking with cane short distances but mostly walker/crutches still over 20 to 30 ft.
am hoping by end of this coming week cane ONLY and able to start driving a vehicle again after 4 weeks, will see?
