Thanks.
I read more than I ever wanted to about batteries, this a.m, without ever getting that info.
I'm considering trying to put a Valk battery in a '99 Magna. I can see that the Valk batter is slightly taller but didn't know if there were any other important differences.

You need to be aware that positive and negative post position could be changed.  Also the type of post configuration could be different.

They are the same.  Perhaps that's what  "BS" indicates.

Not sure, yet. Battery reads 12.88V a couple hrs. after charging.

I replaced the r/r a couple of years ago after the battery boiled and burst its seams. I was up at mriders' and got a Walmart battery to get it home. JIll (my Missus and the bike's owner) is a MOOT member.

Have done this several times to V65 Sabre's and Magna's both. Always used a Goldwing 1000,1100,1200,1500 battery.

It is necessary to modify battery box to make room and rehang some components. When putting the battery in it must be tilted and slid in.

The great thing is that all the electrics line up fine, the existing battery hold strap works without change and the battery last much longer.

If you decide to go this way let me know and I can point out where the changes need to be made.

Thanks, Pete, but, near as I can tell, the regulator/rectifier is clogged up.  I can't measure more than 12.9 Volts @ 3000 rmp at the battery.  The battery seems to be holding 12.7V.

This '99 VF750-C Magna is the  only Honda I've ever had to replace a r/r on, even once.

I'm going to give that a shot. The unit is less than two years old and came with a lot more cable than the original.
