I don't shut mine off or even go into sleep mode, just shut off the monitor at the end of the day. Yesterday morning all was well, the usual desktop screen greeted me and I went about checking emails and cleaning the garbadge from them. Then took a look at the VRCC page, nothing new that caught my eye to checked out and turned off the monitor. Some hours later, having nothing to do and too much time to do it all...decided to turn on the monitor and look at some YouTube videos. WHOA!! The desktop was undisturbed but once I clicked on Google Chrome my gmail access usually seen in the upper right corner was gone and most of the little quick icons on the home page were either gone or all shifted around. I've tried to get it all back to where it was but to no avail. Does anyone know how to restore it all?

Sounds like you got logged out of Chrome. Where your Google avatar would normally be in the upper right hand corner do you see just a generic person (Head and torso looking thing)?

If so click it, and somewhere in there you should be able to log back in to your Google account, which would re-synch your stuff back...

Or at least it should... Wink

Something similar happens to me from time to time John.  I leave mine on too.

I'll push the mouse over to the side of the desk, and the mistaken click and drag can change up my whole Desktop screen (or whatever it's called).  And it will take me an hour or more of futzing around to get it back.

I have a brand new (operating system) laptop next to my old desktop.  But I almost never use it becasue it's so different, and pisses me off when I do.   2funny tickedoff

I don't know if it makes any difference or not, maybe does, probably doesn't, but I turn off my wifi connection when I leave the computer for any extended time and every night.

My theory is google can't do any updates while the computer is not in use or in the middle of the night.

I'm slowly transitioning to Duck, Duck, Go.

Does that make me a "Tranny"?

Had issues here about 10 days ago. Desk top icons would only open with the right mouse click and click "Open". Mouse was also malfunctioning and tried doing everything in the control panel to fix it. Everything returned to normal yesterday. This site is the least hassle on my list of sites. HondaShadowNetwork is becoming a real PITA. Way too many ad's and very slow down loading pictures, constant "reloads" and typing in info it always shuts down while responding to the posts. Purty pizz poor the past 6 mos.

I don't always turn off my personal computer.

Sometimes it will start acting all crazy, when it does doing a restart or a total reboot fixes the problem.
