Pearl Harbor A Date Which Will Live in Infamy FDR Speech

https://www.bing.com/videos/riverview/relatedvideo?&q=dec.+7th+1941+a+day+that+will+live&qpvt=dec.+7th+1941+a+day+that+will+live&mid=190D6EB0E25C08A756D4190D6EB0E25C08A756D4&&FORM=VRDGAR

A date and speech worth remembering, all of us should remember (especially our political leaders).
Not intended as a thread to bash Japan now but, the events and deception, circumstances of leading up to  December 7th are lessons we should not forget.

And, we showed them how to do it.

I wasn't even Close to being conceived when F D R made this Declaration of WAR But I percieve it almost like I was there. In 64 and again in 65 you could still see Japanese bullet impacts on hanger walls and some Japanede bomb blast evidence on the concrete aprons. And this was still evident 23+ years later. The cost and horrors of war should be left behind but as a WAG that ain't Never gonna happen!  Cry I M O quite possibly one of The BEST Prersidential speeches ever made. Thanks Ron. RIDE SAFE.

This is what US Intelligence (and reconnaissance) services are for.

Unfortunately, the enemy may be more within, more than without.

Creeping (and marching) socialism in all its particulars is no friend of our Constitutional freedom and liberty.

It really is amazing how smart these guys were.  The Declaration of Independence, Constitution and Bill of Rights set down basic principles for all the ages of time.

Benjamin Franklin's response to Elizabeth Willing Powel's question: "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?"
A republic, if you can keep it.

Yeah, this was before my dad’s time, but I am quite familiar with the speech & the sentiments. Thanks, Ron for keeping us all aware!

My Dad and 5 of my uncles served during WW 2. I wasn't born until 1954. But. I can still recall their stories. If it was not for "The Greatest Generation". We would all be speaking German and Japanese.

My Dad served under George Patton in the Battle of the Bulge, I was named after a Major that pull him out of the tank that had had it's turret blown off.   He was a the tank commander and was assigned another tank.

The Greatest Generation is a term that still doesn't give them all the credit they deserve.

My dad served in the United States Marine Crops during WWII.  He was, to my knowledge and what he shared with my sister and brother, a Pilot who flew the Grumman F4F Wildcat.

We, my dad and I never, ever talked about his time in the War.  He has movies from the days after the war ended while he was still in Hawaii.

Since the war ended in September 1945 and I was born in some 11 months later, the movies I have were all taken between October and November of 1945.

We was still very interested in aviation after leaving the Marines but he had a Forestry Degree from Penn State and worked in Forestry until he retired.

His interest was basically in the making and flying of model airplanes.  Something I took an interest in.
Radio Control was really fun and flying a glider so high you almost lost sight of it was cool (no power after launch).

He was a special man.  RIP Dad angel
