Need info on motorcycle covers that fit interstates, with trunk on.  I have 2 covers, good ones, but neither is large enough to fit right.

Thanks, Paul

The Dowco brand is about as good as they get.

It's either the XXL or XXXL (call and ask them).  Snug is better than loose, unless snug means fighting with it all the time.

Keep in mind that even a big heavy bike with a big cover can go over in high winds.  If possible (and it's outdoors), try to put it where that can't happen (next to a wall or fence).  Long ago, I had my covered 750-4 Honda blow over on the center stand on an Air Force base flightline (and leak fluids).

My two Interstates sit in a shed and even though I have an XXL cover, I use (really) old King waterbed sheets (fitted and top sewn together) as dust covers only so I don't have to fight with the elastic at the bottom, and don't need waterproof.

I also have a little Dowco top/half cover only I use on riding trips because it packs up very small.  Just to keep the rain from soaking the bike out in motel parking lots.

Nelson rig is another good brand.  https://www.nelsonrigg.com/motorcycle-covers

Couple years? back I bought the largest 1 WalMart had for my I/S. BUT I had 3 flags mounted to the trunk rail. I'm thinkin without the flags it might have fit near perfect. Do NOT Know the make. I'd have to check and see if it's still in my shop. I'll let you know later whether or not I find it. RIDE SAFE.

Just make sure that you buy one that says "GOLDWING" on it and no one will mess with your Valkyrie.   2funny

I've used worn fitted queen sheets for 16 yrs. and Dowco half fit when on the road. On a note, I used a real canvas tarp over my Takasawa 14x40 lathe and it caused surface rust but I stupidly used WD40 on the ways. One big No-No. LPS protectant oil or non detergent 30w/way oil as I used to do in the shops. Gotta have a DA moment every once in awhile.  Grin

Now not saying canvas failed in its breath ability to protect but just a example what could happen but I'd invest in appropriate sized medium quality canvas tarp and good QC flat style bungee's for any outside the garage controlled environment storage.

WD40 is water based stuff; OK for stuff being worked loose, but not good as rust protectant.

Back when I had 4-5 bikes, some stayed outside and unused for long periods and even though well covered, got surface rust and plenty of crud.  My old (but nice) full dress Harley with more aluminum than chrome really got bad.  Days of cleaning, power buffing and polishing, and then sold before it happened again.  It didn't like being outside, but the Valks got it's old shed space.

No more outdoor storage, no more trouble (than dust).

Time to winterize a bunch of lawn equipment (waiting for warmer weather).  All my leaves are finally down (man that sh!t gets old).  All that stuff sits in a 2d shed.

Not water based.
