So around 0700 hrs local I ended up totaling my 06 Pontiac Grand Prix. Well NOT exactly it was Raining sorta hard and as I rolled into the South dide of Rolla Mo. on US 63 North I got disoriented and thought WRONGLY as it turned out I was Not yet on the 4 land but still on the 2 lane with one of those triangular traffic curbs? which let me kbow I was in a Right turn ONLY lane too late to turn right and somebody was next to me and the right front tire took the brunt of the impact airbag did it's job along with the shoulder harness and I'm still suckin wind as it are. Wrecker driver and my collision repair shop here confirmed my Pancho is toasted. Broken engine cradle right front suspension hangin on by not much and $500.00 later my Pancho is back in Willow Springs! I wasn't hurt NO other vehicles or people involved. Y'all give me a dayat least should Anyone choose to laugh out loud! RIDE SAFE.

Hate to hear that, and I know it's cliche, but it's also true, glad the car is totaled and not you!

Got her back in 18 and BonBon my S I L fronted me the cash for it. Been a Dang GOOD Ride and it Did Not Wuz Not nickel and diming me. Regular service and I also have a GOOD local Mechanic. In fact last week had her serviced and back on 11 3 2024 put in a new battery. Smidge over 213 G on the clock. But in a quick flash She sadly Is totaled. BUT as others have mentioned I are in pretty good shape fer an old guy flirtin with 80 years on Earth! Got a wicked technicolor bruise on the back of my left hand that has leaked a bit. And YES I Know could have been much worse. I would have actyually preffered to have been on my Brothers computer in ISLAND Lake Il. tellin y'all I made it up to the North country fer CHRISTMAS and New Year! And THANKS fer the well wishes and like that! RIDE SAFE.

I imagine those traffic islands and such are much easier to see from the cab of a Peterbilt or some such machine! Glad you’re here to tell the tale!

And Again THANKS Serk! Those pics were taken about 10 mins after the encounter with a non moveable object! That right front was at that weird angle and the left front was staight and steering wheel centered. And as I'd mentioned the engine cradle is beyond repair! RIDE SAFE.

Sorry for your troubles Dennis. My mom finally gave up driving a few months ago, at 95. The remaining family (3 of us) are pretty happy about it. She lives next door to my brother and his wife, and they're keeping her nice Dodge Promaster City because the other vehicles around the place are getting old (along with everyone else). Like my brother's daily driver 3/4 ton 1967 Dodge Camper Special. His doesn't look this good. He keeps it in good running order, but only washes it every 10 years or so.

Jess Ross and I had 3/4 ton Dodge pickups bout a year apart. His was red and a 69 mine was white and a 70. Good trucks except the salt used in winter on Illinois highways took a hard toll on mine. That 318 V8 was dang near bullet proof. BUT I do not MISS changing plugs points and condenser and wires bout every 10 G! And my Grand Prix has that 3.8 Gen III and That is a Good engine. RIDE SAFE.

The MI salt hasn't done his any good either. He keeps it running well, but it looks like it was stolen from a salvage yard. Some call it patina. I call it rust. He maintains farm equipment, tractors, airplanes, trucks, and even had a small road grader. It all runs, but he spends no time at all on looks (except the airplanes). I had that 3.8 liter in an earlier car, and it was great.

Good to hear your mostly unhurt personally. If I remember correctly most of these GM front wheel drive cars have a removable subframe assy. Not sure how available a good one is in the salty north but it could be an option if your happy with the car otherwise. Of course labor cost may put it out of contention compared to another vehicle.
