The site uses pretty old software, and I believe it's free, so I doubt there's much support available. But maybe they have a user forum. These problems are rarely unique.
No, it’s not free. We pay a pretty penny for it and for the support.
Not to split hairs, but SMF is indeed free (The forum software Simple Machines Forum is free and open source software.)
The servers to run it, and paying someone to run it, that is not free, not by a long shot.
The version we're running (SMF 1.1.2.0) is also extremely old and out of date (Current version is 2.1.6) but it'd take someone with the knowledge and experience and time and resources to take ownership of it and run a upgrade (Or a hell of a lot of money) so figure they're keeping it limping along on this version...
