Was a nice one, a bit more than an hour.

Headed north to the Annsville Circle which just past Fort Smith is the goat trail to the Bear Mtn bridge

There was an accident right away that had just happened and I observed a Dodge charger without a front wheel that had spun out in the bottom part of the trail.

The road was a bit slick in spots and waterfalls on my right crossed the road in a few areas  I obeyed the speed limit which was 40.

At the bridge I headed north, still on the east side of the Hudson to Garrison where I had a nice view of West Point, then east thru the cut in the ridge to 9 again then south toward home.

Saw one other bike riding north and we waved to each other.  Speed limits were only observed in that I did not venture below them the last 10 miles  Wink

Man, my hands were cold.  It is getting time to hook up those electric gloves as the temp drops below 40
Hopefully I get my bmw back with the new abs unit as that bike has heated grips,

All in all a spirited start to the year.

May all your rides be dry and fun this year

So many colors to choose from yet so few stand out

Made it a point to ride the "Rat Bike" in and about Covington today.   Had a few things to get.   I dressed appropriately for the weather but to be honest, this is not a day to go touring in Western TN (at least for me).  Wink

It's cold and blowing hard enough to knock trees down, so no riding for me today.

I just made and ate a big greasy chilidog.  Burp (flatulence to follow).

Remember how funny it was to let a big fart rip at a table full of people, then turn to the friend next to you and say.... Bob!!  Man you have no class at all.   2funny

51 chilly degrees but bright and sunny.... I rode the 'Wing a few days ago when it was in the upper 70's, decided I needed to get the dump truck, er, the old gal out for a spin today...

Still love the ole' gal, but she's needing a lot of work I don't wanna do, and just not as much fun to ride as she used to be...

...sure is purdy though!

It was spitting frozen water crystals this morning in my part of Kentucky so no thought of a ride today. But I did work on my sons rental house today which some people say is an important thing (work) to do on the first day of the New Year. One thing is for sure, a whole lot of people stayed home today as I 75 was wide open for my return home whereas usually it’s like Daytona or Talladega on the last five laps.

not gonna be riding for a while
it is at freezing now and by tomorrow night the temp will not rise above the mid 20's
Jess, thanks for the wind, it is a steady 22 before the gusts

Next time I have a choice between steps and elevator, if I see either you or Dennis, it is steps for me

Glad to hear you got your first ride of the year in. For me we were out for a ride Saturday (28th) It was chilly but tolerable. Ran to just into Michigan and back. A little under 400 miles. We saw a couple of bikes but we were mostly highway but it was still nice to get some wind therapy. We're back to cold and snow now so it's probably going to be a couple of months before I get my first of the year ride in.

Evan
glad ya  got a  1st ride  in.. smitten
I got the  last ride in on the  31st..
It was a  pretty day, even saw  a  great double rainbow with  one  of the  best colours I  had  seen in a long time..

But it snowed and  blew  wind  all day yesterday.Jan 1st.
So riding the  tractor and  quad  was all I  got in yesterday..
Today  it's 20*  and  cold, and  had to fix the  water to the troughs  already.

I will get one  in soon I  hope  maybe  on my  Birthday ride , IF  the  weather holds
soon .

funny how it goes..

rode the 30th, 31st and yesterday

Probably will not get another opportunity for quite a while

Double rainbows are cool, they are back to back if you look the colors are reversed from one to the other
