No OSS, I went to a car meet tonight in the Cobra car. Wind on the upper body is about like the Valkyrie with the barn door windshield. 48 degrees was just about cold enough for me. It was a 40 minute drive and I was not uncomfortable but have to admit I was happy to reach home. Not interested in 10 degrees

There are things I've done that I wouldn't be inclined to repeat - a big event on the National Mall is one of them (2 - Fourth of July's is plenty). Not to mention I HATE cold.

Absolutely right Brian.  I worked a block behind the Whitehouse for 18 years. From the day of my retirement (14 years, 17 days ago), I've never set foot in the District again, for any purpose (and this is the best one I can think of). As much as I'd like to go down there and fly the flag in my old camo fatigue jacket with all Strategic Air Command insignia still on it and captain bars hat, I won't be doing it. |

I'll probably end up watching on the Telly, not cuz I want to but was out voted 1:1.  I just don't go in for such stuff, it all kinda draaags along and I sit there wishing it would get overwith so I can go on to something other than a sleeping pill. |

Local weather says Sunday we get 1-3 more inches of snow (marvelous), and Monday (Inauguration Day) high 25, low 9, sunny and windy, and the DC concrete canyons make wind extra nasty.
Indoors also makes it harder for a sniper.
TV it is.
It would also be very nice if we don't get any raving loony lefties acting up and causing trouble. That's what those 4 foot batons are for.

The snow and cold windy weather predicted might be the reason. I don't know who gets to make that decision (probably DC Govt), but it could also be they don't want to televise the huge numbers of rejoicing, deliriously happy DJT supporters that might show up anyway. That sounds like a joke, but it might be true. |

DJT said he wanted it indoors - and I can't say I disagree. With TV coverage, there will be lots of people watching the actual ceremony of the swearing-ins.
I'm going to be playing some music with the community orchestra I'm part of as part of our local MLK celebration downtown KCK.

We made plans to go.
I don't like the cold but we're still going.
They're going to allow people into the Capital One Arena to view the inauguration on big screens and then President Trump is supposed to speak to the crowd there afterwards.
If we don't manage to get in there, I figure, that I can find a barstool to watch it from.

Haven't checked D.C., but we're scheduled for 10" of snow today through tomorrow, so no to riding. Great  Actually, I don't mind it. If we're gonna have winter, let it actually be winter, with snow. Ill bet, no matter what the weather, if people show up outside, President Trump will do his best to address and thank them. S.S. may try to dissuade him. |

It's 20-something (with nasty wind chill) here too Jeff, and I just went out and put up my second flag. All my walks are covered with very slippery ice, but I did it anyway. |
