Brings back memories. I had a '69 Charger RT like that, dark green with a black stripe where that one is white. Had 4 speed Hurst H shifter, big old 440 that I mounted headers on along with some extra carbs and cam for good measure. Eventually had to replace the clutch...can't imagine why! Wink I forget the rear end ratio, but about the only thing it couldn't pass was a gas station. The clutch I installed was extra strong and my oldest daughter loved to drive it but had to put it in neutral if caught at a light cuz it would push her up out of the seat if she didn't. She was rather popular down at the local drive-in hangout but she never took on any challenge...that I know of. She would rip it through the gears if I was with her but would always ask me first if she could "turn it loose." Sure thing hon... cooldude  I miss her something fierce...cancer.

While I’m a Oldsmobile guy, love the Cutlass and 442 packages that is a good looking car and it sounds great.  cooldude I certainly wouldn’t mind taking it for a spin that for sure.

Do you remember the Mopar White hat Specials? My dad bought one . You could have knocked me over with a feather when he came home one Saturday morning with a new 1969 Dodge Charger.

The commercial looks vaguely familiar, I was 4 in ‘69 and we didn’t really watch much tv back then that I remember.

As for Dodge, my uncle had a Lil Red Express. I fell in love with that truck. There’s one that constantly sits in a mechanic’s parking lot the next town over. It’s needs some work but when I drive by I’m tempted to stop in to ask what’s going on with it, it’s definitely not all original but still looks ok from the street.

I remember Dodge came out with the alternate version of the Lil Red called the Warlock which there were a couple of those roaming the streets back in the day, but my uncle had the only Lil Red.

69' was the year of my license to drive. Our city of 15,000 had and all five motor divisions represented thus predominately Chrysler due to 30mi. proximity to Kokomo,IN Chrysler. The Chevie's was equal in comparision due to older models started SS badging/performance before 69' and same SB design for a many a year. Notorious 302 does come to mind.  Smiley 69' BB 427 Chevelle's was the beast of street then and 70' with the 454. Next Ford Mustangs FB with 428 and 390 BB's with a rare 429 Cobra Jet. There was one rare 69' Fairlane 2 dr. with a 429 Cobra package. AMC was the frugal family Rambler provider but a Troy Donahue Javelin roamed the streets but rare sighting due somebody good eye for a collectible.

A couple beautiful Goats and one Hurst Olds and rare Mercury Cougar or two.

I won't leave out the ole' mundane forerunner to the Javelin, the 65'-67 AMC Marlin and the 66' Charger FB's. Quite obvious that DeLorean and Lee Iacocca were masters but the FB Charger  Huh?

I might add my 1st. was 59' Rambler wagon Bumble Bee with tailgate to steering wheel fold down seating.  Grin "Those were the day's my friend we thought  Shocked they never end....."
