Fellow Riders,

Whether you are still riding or not, how about we try and get together for old time sakes and grab a burger?  Let me know if you are interested by responding here.  This will be open to anyone who is interested, family included.  It would be great to see Big Ed, Brew1brew, Buzzkill, Disco, Houdini, Rainmaker, Randal, Serk, SideCar, Six Guns, Speedo, Timbo, and Valkpilot just to name a few.  I may even try and set something up special for a visit to the new Haas Moto Museum.

If there is an interest in doing this I will work on setting it up.

Cool to see some responses.  I will give it a little more time and see if we can get some more people to respond before posting any details.

As some others have said, depending on the schedule, we'd be there.

Sure miss the "Hill Country Ride-In's", and the "Gathering of the Fools" get togethers. It'd be great to get meeting again somewhere.

Thanks for the poke Disco!

As others have said, if scheduling can be worked out, I'm there...

Disclaimer - life's crazy hectic right now, even more than usual so odds are low, but I'm definitely up for it if I can make it happen!

This has potential.

Sold mine a few years ago.  Didn't ride it enough to keep the battery charged even.  We have changed our style of vacationing anyway.

That sounds like a great idea.  It's been a long time since we had a gathering.  Every year, I think about setting up a hill country ride, and every year, life gets in the way and I don't do it.

Is your intent for it to be DFW focused, or Texas focused?  If DFW focused, and smaller event, more local to ya'll, that makes sense.  If Texas focused, I would suggest an alternate direction, like a Meet in the Middle ride, or the hill country or something like that.
Of course, best would be to do both!  Have a local thing some evening, and a bigger thing on a weekend or weekend day.

I have some history in planning these, feel free to PM to discuss if you like.

That sounds like a great idea.  It does depend on when.  We're traveling a lot around the state for school programs, festivals, etc. and April is nuts because of the Easter events we are staffing, but I'd be happy to get some wind.

Rockman,

I was thinking local but anyone that wants to join is more than welcome to me.  We all have the same passion for riding especially on a Valkyrie.  Disco Dave and I were talking the other day at the Denton Bikes and Coffee and he mentioned how he missed seeing everyone so we thought let's see if we can round up the old gang.  We know that some no longer ride so we would make it a meet up at a good burger joint to share some stories.  I was thinking we could meet at Maple and Motor on Preston Rd in Dallas, they have great burgers.  We then discussed adding a visit to the Haas Moto Museum, a real cool motorcycle museum with lots of custom and historical motorcycles.  I know that if I have enough show up at the museum, I may be able to get a special tour that would include meeting one of the custom motorcycle builders in person.  It looks like we do have some interest in doing this so I will work with Disco and we will come up with a date.  I will post the details later once we have them worked out.

If I ever decide to do a Texas meet up, I will be sure to call you.

Sounds good.  I'll see if I can make it up there that weekend, and I want to start planning something for the fall in the hill country.
