My wife is having foot issues.  Her feet tend to get wider and boots and shoes she has used in the past no longer work.

What I would like to find for her is either a pair of boots that may be used in the rain and keep her feet dry (no need for them to be truly motorcycle related, she rides as a passenger) or

A pair of things that she can put over the shoes she wears while riding.

These shoes use to be boots but foot issues have forced her to shift back to something like Tennis Shoes.  I forget the brand name but the are a little wider than normal.

She says her current shoe size is 8.

Somewhere or sometime I remember a pair of "boots" I used during the rain.  The were not really made for riding but they did keep my feet dry.  As I remember they had rubber bottoms and then the tops were not ridge just waterproof and there to keep the shoes from getting water in them.

We had, in the past, just purchased some rubber boots and she would just change shoes and wear them in the rain.  I don't think we can find a pair wide enough but we just started looking.

Any suggests would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Bill, they sell over the ankle high rubber galoshes you just step your shoes in easily.  When I wore a suit and tie and expensive shoes for a living, I wore these galoshes to protect my good shoes commuting (in rain and snow).

They should not be hard to find.  Have her wear the shoes she will ride in and try on for size.  They are rubber with a good grippy bottom.

I did not think of that.  My wife's feet are wider than a year ago. I will mention that to her.

All leather soled footwear (bottoms) are too slippery for motorcycle riding.  Maybe bot brand new, but shortly thereafter.

Army GI issue blacks are my driver boot of choice on cooler rides and long hauls. No issue with dampness and controlled warmth regardless the temps. I'm the one who has got caught in the goose drowners. Highly recommend them. Lacing them up are easy as the strings are heavy duty well coated for easy draw of the strings. Years ago I was shown how to speed lace high top boots with open eyelets.

You might find a surplus store to do a fit.
