Yes, Dave - the guy who put those on - and I had met in Knoxville before those gatherings started and became friends. I always enjoyed his events, so I tried never to miss one. I even rode to North Georgia for other rides with some locals, as I'd become 'one of them'...

Alas, life moved on for all of us and sooner or later we began to drop out. I'd been married and living 'at home' back then, but when all of that changed for me, I soon became one of the 'casualties' too. As for the VOA, I really don't know. It never seemed to have quite the same 'feel' or the 'staying power' the VRCC developed, so it shrank and disappeared from my own view. I don't know if it even exists nowadays...

Glad to see you're still around! Will you be at the 'Danny McMillin Memorial Ride' in north Alabama this weekend? If so, please look me up for some catching up!!!

That is correct.  Good to see you posting Joe .

After Dan Stocker died then Taz (Terry) took over running the club

The club never really recovered from the debacle of the Cradle of Liberty Ride in King of Prussia PA

There were rides then in Eureka Springs, LaCrosse (sp?), Keystone SD and Maggie Valley and then he got sick and let the website URL expire. and so the club died.

I believe Taz still does that Mississippi river ride  every year.  Maybe Challenger has been in touch with him.  It has been years since we have spoken just one of those things

I remember in 2005, (when I was more reckless) about eight of us riding triple digits in Colorado (Bonnie sitting in back of me not too happy about that) for a good while trying to get to the white water rafting place.  Who here remembers that ride?  and mileage does go down when you get into those speeds lol
