« on: May 05, 2025, 11:19:06 AM »

Had a great time in KY this weekend. Rather treacherous ride home, glad we made it  cooldude
Please keep my Good Pal Strat in mind- seems he had a cage encounter of the wrong kind  tickedoff
Most of our group had already departed at 10:30am when Ol Skinhead got broadsided
Pics indicate much damage to cage & motorcycle. Joe’s leg is still attached but looks painful
Leg wound looks like  open gash, seems a couple inches could have cost him a limb. He said car came into his lane just to hit him! crazy2
We had several  campfire  conversations about the future of riding Fri/Sat - Joe is likely pondering future options now
And will hopefully update us soon…
Take care! Heal up!!! Ride safe - ATGATT.     cooldude

This is very bad news.

Anyone who knows, give us his his medical condition.

Binky and I drove to Michigan today.  Sorry it took me so long to post, but it really wasn't too serious,  the bike is probably totaled due to plastic damage,  I was happy that I didn't lose my leg, it really was, in the words of Monty Python, "Just a flesh wound".  I was up and walking about immediately after the collision, I never hit the ground.  Went to the saw bones yesterday just to make sure and everything is fine, just sore and stiff in all the wrong places.

Thank you all for your thoughts, concerns, prayers, and kind words.  We really are a great club.  I'm sure I'll keep riding, please continue to pray for the Lord's protection for all of us and for our safety. See yinz at the hillbilly ride and insane.

It’s great to hear you’re ok and I’m sorry about the bike. Hopefully when you start looking and are ready for another you find something great and you’ll be happy with.

Again, thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.  My bike is still at the motel waiting for a transporter to pick it up, I'm doing well, just some lingering stiffness that is improving every day.  If the transport company doesn't doesn't come through, I may hook up my trailer and get the bike myself this week.  They said they will handle it, but it's been a week already and I'm sure L A would like the bike removed from their property.

Glad you feel you're up to a retrieval mission!

When I had to have my bike shipped back from Billings Inzane I wanna say it was nearly a month before they picked the bike up, then another week or two for 'em to get it back home...

Was not a pleasant experience, after they got my money. They were very friendly and helpful before then of course...

I'd like to give a big public Thank You to f6John (John Smith). Who met me in Slade and helped me load my Goldwing on my trailer.  The bike wouldn't start, so we had to use a come-a-long to pull it up the trailer ramp.  No way could I have accomplished this by myself.  Thanks again John for making the ride and helping out.

This is a great club full of great people (with a few exceptions).

I got home about 7 pm after 2 hours of stop and go traffic in construction on I 75.
