She hadn't ridden since late November/early December so she was "ready to ride". It was a good day for riding in WNC today. Temps in mid to upper 50's.  cooldude
These first pics are looking across Lake James toward the Blue Ridge Mtns. In this first one Grandfather Mtn is to the far right. If you've ridden the BRP thru NC you may remember Grandfather.

Mt. Mitchell on far left in this one

Lake was like glass this morning before the wind got up

From town of Morganton

A now out of business store in Rutherford Co. called Good Ole Boys

From there we rode to Washburn's Country Store in Sunshine, NC.  The store is the real deal unlike Mast General Store which used to be an authentic old style country store but is now a tourist trap with stores scattered all over the mountains.

More companies need murals. If I had a business, it would have a mural.

looks like Mt Mitchel has some of that white stuff still on the slopes.  I got out for 100 or so miles yesterday and it was 65 degrees.  Hope to put on a few more today.

Great pics!! I sure do miss the green and all the water. Az. is a bit lacking in that kind of terrain.
Altho, if you find yourself in these desert climes in a month or so, I'm sure the folks down here will be able to show you some nifty sites!!

Ron: I saw that you asked about rides here in AZ. Are you coming for a visit? If so let us know. Sandy

Sandy, I'd like to get out your way and thought I might be able to next month. Now something has come up and I'm not sure. I'll know more next week. You can bet I'd let you know if I was gonna be in AZ. Thanks for asking.  cooldude
