The Shiva period after mom's funeral ended on Monday night and I just did not
want to deal with the bull$hit at Court so I got on the Valkyrie tuesday morning and headed up to Ticonderoga (think north end of Lake George about even with the southern end of Lake Champlain)

Nice ride up 22 thru the farm country of the Adirondack Mountains  Arrived at my brothers spread around noon which is in Lake George Forest, and we went out on the pontoon boat into Lake George for several hours

It was beautiful there 78 degrees, sunny, light breeze  No fishing just moseying down the lake and talking about mom and dad (he died in 2013)

Headed home Wednesday morning as it was supposed to get nasty Thursday

Made it about even with Interstate 84 about 65 miles from home before it started to come down
Those exit ramps were slick as snot

Love the fairing and baker air wings as I was dry when I got home.  Just kept having to lift the visor as it kept fogging up.  Used the 4 way flashers going over the Newburgh-Beacon bridge over the Hudson river in some nice pouring rain and wind

All in all about 500 miles for the 2 days.

And decided we are taking the car to inzane as I do not have 4 vacation days to spend coming and going this year.   Will likely get the kendon folding trailer later this summer  Happy wife happy life

So sorry to hear of your mother's passing OSS.  I can tell you needed that ride..  Sounds like a fitting tribute to that great lady.  And, you got some valuable time with your brother.

Evan, sorry for your loss, it's extra tough when it's Mom.

I was up at Ticonderoga last weekend (5/11) for some of the reenactment of Benedict Arnolds take over of the fort and cannons 250 years ago.

It was chilly up there but worth the time and trip.

The "Green Mountain Boys" paid a visit again, only this time in a pair of F-35's.

Man those buggers are FAST.

Thank you all

Mom took a ride with me on the Valkyrie perhaps 12 years ago

She also rode on the back of the 750 Vulcan

She liked the Valkyrie and would bless it often when i came over

What a great picture Evan, worthy of a frame on the wall.   Smiley

I have two long walls full of mainly family pictures.

One of my favorites is an old black and white with mom standing on the walk of her childhood home in a simple dress smiling at the camera with her dog 'Boots' standing guard at her side, at about 7 years old.

So sorry to hear of your moms passing. Sometimes you just have to get some "wind therapy" after a loss to clear your head. I know I did after the passing of my parents. See you at Inzane...
