First time I put some miles (Cool on the bike. Last time I ran the engine in the garage for 3-4 minutes but prior to that it didn't run for months. This weekend I finished the new front brake lines and I was ready to test them. I started with half choke, about half minute choke off and engine was idling at 900-1000 RPM. By the time I got back the idle was 1200-1300, obviously hotter engine. Is this normal, do I need to make a longer trip, maybe open it up on the highway to get system purged, and what is Honda recommended RPM, if any, just to know in case I should adjust it?
Thank you

I run about 750 at idle.  Most recommend 1000 as that is the low end of charging from the alternator.  I don't figure I idle long enough to be concerned with that.

I have put about 320,000 miles on four Valks.  Oops, 400,000 on five.

tech manual calls for 900-100 rpms.

below 800 rpms and alternator is not charging, meaning everything is running off the battery.

Mine is set to 900-1000.  It slows a little when the fan kicks on in South Texas traffic, but not too bad.

If you set the idle before it completely warms up it will be too high at operation temperature. Go for a ride  and when you stop set the idle where you want it. Around 900 is totally fine
