Hey all.  Wondering if anyone knows if these risers blocks work without drilling or modification.  I'm 5-11 with 37 inch sleeve (I think).

I'm not sure Brett, probably.  You don't say what Valk you have and the Interstate fairing can be a bit more space restrictive than Stds and Tourers.

Most riders of all sizes want to go up 3-4 inches more than forward.  And since the trees are angled, up also means back.

And if you will want to go to an upgrade seat at some point (like an Ultimate Lowboy (1 inch under stock) or Bigboy (one inch over stock)), it's better to do that first before deciding on risers.  I sit back in the pocket of my Ultimates against the driver's backrest and need the bars up and back for comfort.  5'9", 35" sleeve.

And those risers and up 3-4 inches require no mods to control cable lengths, which is also a consideration.

How wide they sit in the stock risers would be my thought. I changed to different set of bars as the pullback on the stockers was way too much thus my wrist were in a precarious position while handling @ slow/parking speeds. Had the same issue with the VT1100C Spirit Buckhorns really bad.

5'11", 165 lb. and normal build.

 @jess from VA

Jess, thanks for the comment -- I ride a 99 IS with an ultimate low boy.  I did twist the bars down a bit and it almost works. riding around and upright with some lean against the backrest is pretty right on.  but if I get on highway and relax more with feet on the highway pegs, I end up stretching a bit and holding onto the ends of the bars. I don't need much more but looking to bring back an inch or two toward me. I was figuring these may do the trick if I install them downward.  and then just twist the bars back where they were (Or not).  they are cheap (about $24) but wanted to see if anyone has experience with them.  My main concern is if the Holes to mount them to the stock riser are somehow "standard" so the screw patters aligns, or if something will need to be drilled or reamed.

thank for any additional insight.

Brett, looking at the pictures, it looks like they would move the bars forward, but now if they are turned around 180*, they would give more pullback if they fit that way.

You want metric bike risers that shouldn't require any drilling (I wouldn't want to do that).  I'm not sure looking at the picture you posted.  I used to know all the riser dimension particulars, but I've forgotten.

EDIT:  The Valk riser spacing is 4" (really, I think 100mm), whereas Hogs are 3.5".  And of course the Valk bars are one inch diameter (not 3/4" like on some small bikes).  For $24 you should be able to try them for fit, and if you don't torque on the mounts or mark them up, return them if you don't like them.

I've about quit using my Hwy pegs (on my Interstate with Lowboy) because the traffic around here is so nuts I feel safer with my feet on the controls.  And I'm never on freeways anymore either.

It looks like those are made to be installed on the OEM risers.

Can't tell how much they rise, the numbers in the picture don't expand well, but I believe you will have difficulty with the cables.

Maybe not, worth a try.

I think you're right Bill (the bottom curve appears to sit in them).  I can't read/see the other pictures either.

It's been so long I can't remember the OE riser height (3 1/8"?), plus whatever they add.  If it's only an inch or so, cables may be OK.

If memory serves me right, which it doesn't at times, when I added aftermarket risers they provided about 1" up and 1" back, which was the goal.

That was replacing the OEM riser completely.

OEM = 3". Aftermarket = 4"

I believe any more than that, the cable length was an issue.
