Hello - again - everyone!

In 2017 I sold my Valkyrie to a very nice fella who has sent me yearly updates, thanking me for selling him such a wonderful machine.

The years have passed.

Many times, sitting around a campfire with my buddies, they tease me about "that one bike I always regretted selling", and when I have talked about selling other things I own, have laughingly said "Make sure you don't sell another Valkyrie"....

All of a sudden, out of the blue, I get a text. From the fella who bought my Valk.

He tells me he remembers how sad I was to sell it, and was wondering if I want to buy it back. He just isn't able to ride it anymore for a variety of reasons. It's exactly the same as when he bought it, just he changed the timing belt, got the valves adjusted, new rubber, brakes and front shocks... standard stuff. Sent me pics. It's identical to what it looked like when I sold it.

And, he's generously offered it to me for less than I sold it to him for.

I woke up last night thinking this is my chance at redemption. It feels exactly like what I need to do.

So, I'm going to fly to Calgary where he now lives, and pick it up, and ride it home. Maybe through Montana. I love Montana.

I fondly remember this website, how helpful and friendly you all are. And man I'm sure glad the site is still up and runnin'!

Pretty sure I may need to reach out for advice and help (again). I hope that's ok.

Thanks for all being here.

I look forward to contributing once again.

Draeger

PS - why does my profile picture look like some young fella? did one of you change it while I was away?

Welcome back Draeger.  That's a pretty cool story buddy.   cooldude

Bring your questions on anytime.  We're always here to help.

My biggest regret with vehicles was selling my very first car at 16-17yo.

A Volkswagen, which except for the block heat only in freezing MI winters, was a good solid reliable car.  It was the muscle car era, and I just had to have something with more than 40HP.  But the next 3-4 beaters I could afford were junk and unreliable and often cost more to fix than I paid for them.

Still living at home and getting my Dad to help me fix them all the time, more than once he asked 'what was wrong with your old Volkswagen?'   Grin   Good question Dad.

Profile picture?

For some reason a new pic didn't take but I seem to have figured something out.

And now trying to figure out why all my post pictures vanished... I think I used a now-defunct forum hosting image site...

Trying again.

One of the last pics I too of my Valk before selling:
