HEY!! Since 1983, I've owned 3 Ford trucks. My current one is a '94 F150. I've owned it for over 24 years. Loved them all.

Growing up in the Motor City (Detroit), the standard joke was F.O.R.D. = (fix or repair daily)   Grin

What you didn't do was drive a foreign car to any assembly plant (or steel mill).  Things happened to them.

Daily, I see more F150s than all others combined.

No difference in QC of the Big 3 IMO as my 10' GMC has been a money pit but this is funny.  Grin  Pretty much a Chevy and GM owner. I drove whatever would roll down the road my 1st. 3 yrs. of driving until my 64' Impala. Had 67' Fairlane 390 that was a beast and very reliable.

I like shiny vehicles. The blacked out stuff looks good but chrome is still better. I saw this Hayabusa Saturday with a great rear wheel and swingarm. The tire is a 330/30 x 17!

So, I was gonna make a silly joke comment referencing the totally chromed out Valkyrie Rune:

But while researching it, I learned there's a music video from a Russian heavy metal band featuring a Gold Wing, a 1500 Valkyrie, and Pamela Anderson riding said chromed out Rune...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JWehwFsgAeU

Heh, over 10 years ago, not sure how I didn't know that...

https://www.autoevolution.com/news/pamela-anderson-steals-all-chrome-honda-rune-in-a-metal-bands-video-video-83467.html#

I wouldn't mind polishing that.... er..... Heh.... Yeah.....

In ‘86 I was a Toolmaker at General Automotive Specialties Corp. in Moonachie NJ. They made automotive electrical components and were the company who packaged the 1st rear Third Brake Light kit.

Ford had something like 17 different oil pressure sending units and decided, as part of Q1, to create one sensor for the entire FMC line. Our company was chosen to design and manufacture those initial units.

Working with 2 very talented Engineers, I machined the internal components for the prototypes and, after testing was completed, built the tooling that produced some of parts and then built turntable fixture units that allowed 6 people to place pieces into an assembly during the production phase.

Very rewarding from start to finish.

While at this job I ordered an ‘87 E-150 Van with the EFI 302 4 speed auto overdrive package. 10 weeks delivery. After 10 weeks I was told that UPS had bought the entire  remaining allotment of that power train and I was SOL. I then ordered the same van with a 351/C6. 10 weeks delivery. I was in Canada fishing when the van was delivered. After picking up the van at the dealership, I returned to work from vacation and was notified the company was moving to Monterey, MX and I was out of a job.

My Van Club pal parked his 302 EFI and went into a DQ for lunch. There was suddenly a commotion outside. His truck had caught fire and burned up in the parking lot. The EFI had stuck, filled the engine with gas, overflowed on to the exhaust manifold and ignited.

I put 165 thousand on that van. But there is a 2nd story…

More polished aluminum. The one of a kind CBX V-12. I've never seen anything like it.

Then there was this unusual custom I saw at the Quail Motofest 2 weeks ago.

What a wild helmet.   Grin

If you get a new Bronco, consider attending Ford's Off-Roadeo. It's a off road driving school that is free to new owners. My son bought one and I joined him at the school in Moab, Utah.  There's another in New Hampshire. Ford provides the vehicles, lunch on the trail, and dinner. This was at the Moab school last October:

Nice class.  I'd want to smash up their trucks, not mine.   Grin

Of course the extended warranty and AAA wouldn’t be a bad idea?

You bet.  I'd want to smash up their trucks, not mine.   Grin

Actually they inspect for damage when you check out your Bronco for the class, then again when you return it. Just like a rental car. My son decided to buy the damage waiver considering where he'd be driving it. The class of 8 Broncos had no damage noted, but one in front of us smacked a rock with the diff pretty hard.
