Thanks to 98 Valk, I fixed my "too Long Kichstand"

He showed a photo of a 1/2" wire cable clamp.   He had used it for 6 years and loved it.   He said to take the saddle clamp off and just tighten it down with the nuts.   It worked fine.

THAT BEING SAID:    I didn't think it got the bike high enough off the ground to help me that much.

So I got a 3/4" wire/rope cable clamp and used the saddle clamp.  It worked like a charm  It got the kickstand more than a full inch off the ground.   The saddle clamp is made like a V so the wire or rope will fit in the grove to tighten.

The V (grove in the cable saddle)  just fits the kickstand and positions it in the middle of the saddle.

Boy is it tight!  + the threaded ends are lone enough to take two nuts, making the stand stronger.
Use a locking nut for the last one.

My hardware store didn't have a 1" wire/rope cable clamp.   3/4" was the biggest the had.  I think it will be big enough.

Sure is a lot easier to get the bike up.

If you also turn the bars to full right lock the bike comes off the stand and up like a feather (heavy feather)  but a feather.

Here are some photos!

AGAIN,  THIS IS ALL THANKS TO 98 VALK.

My interstate was also a weightlifter clean and jerk to get off the kickstand.  And just a bit too tall with 13" high spring rate shocks.

By going to a lower (reasonable) spring rate 12.5" shocks, not only did I get it just a little lower, but it is much easier to get off the kickstand. I can just lift it off, instead of planting both feet and jerking it up.  I had my 2d short ride today (before the rain), and it is such a great improvement.

I've done a lot of things to this bike, but this may be the best of all.

What I don't understand about your post is "too long kickstand."  The longer it is, the taller it should sit (and easier to lift up).  The shorter it is, the more it should lean (and harder to lift up).
