Thanks to 98 Valk, I fixed my "too Long Kickstand"

He showed a photo of a 1/2" wire cable clamp.   He had used it for 6 years and loved it.   He said to take the saddle clamp off and just tighten it down with the nuts.   It worked fine.

THAT BEING SAID:    I didn't think it got the bike high enough off the ground to help me that much.

So I got a 3/4" wire/rope cable clamp and used the saddle clamp.  It worked like a charm  It got the kickstand more than a full inch off the ground.   The saddle clamp is made like a V so the wire or rope will fit in the grove to tighten.

The V (grove in the cable saddle)  just fits the kickstand and positions it in the middle of the saddle.

Boy is it tight!  + the threaded ends are lone enough to take two nuts, making the stand stronger.
Use a locking nut for the last one.

My hardware store didn't have a 1" wire/rope cable clamp.   3/4" was the biggest the had.  I think it will be big enough.

Sure is a lot easier to get the bike up.

If you also turn the bars to full right lock the bike comes off the stand and up like a feather (heavy feather)  but a feather.

Here are some photos!

AGAIN,  THIS IS ALL THANKS TO 98 VALK.

Thank Draeger for telling me how to get the photos to you.
That being said:  Draeger owes me 45 minutes of my life I'll never get back.   2funny

1) Head over to https://postimages.org/

2) Click the "Choose Images" (do one at a time, it's easier if you have multiple pics). Your pic will upload.

3) The page that appears next has a whole bunch of different options. Pick the second one down that says "Direct Link". Click the 'copy' icon on the right to copy that URL.

4) Head over to the post you are writing here, and click the Insert Image button in the section of the post you want the image to go. It's the first one on the left, second row down.

5) Without doing anything else, immediately hit Control P (Windows) or Command P (Mac) to paste that URL you copied in between the the two little 'img' tags that appeared.

Done!

Hit preview, and you can see what it will look like before posting.

(you can see I really want to know how you raised the kickstand lol!)

Well, I tried but got a message that said 403 FORBIDDEN, no idea what that means.
