and not nuecular?
It grates on me everytime I hear a public figure mess with the syllables. Often it is someone that I otherwise hold in high respect.

Interestingly, that misuse has aroused in me a particular interest in the handful of triple homonyms that exist in the English language. Serk, don't get me started on the replacement of "of" for " 've".

Yeah, right up there with "your" when they mean "you're", or confusing "bring" and "take...as in incorrectly saying "I'm bringing my kid to the doctor tomorrow" instead of "I'm taking my kid to the doctor tomorrow." The two terms essentially are going in different directions. If I happen to correct a blonde someone, the reaction is "nuecular."

The one that bugs me is when I hear or read, "people that do something". It's people who do something. Inanimate object are that. People are who.

There is a simple fix. Do not use the work "nuclear". Just use the work "nuke".
So, I was a Nuke on a Nuke Submarine from 1970 - 1973.
We never Nuked anyone.
But the Nukes I worked with were first class and super people. The stories I could tell...... (if allowed).
I worked at a Nuke Power Plant (well three) from 1973 - 2012. I was a real Nuke (Licensed Senior Reactor Operator on two of these three plants).
See, easy fix.
