I was just looking around today and found my old Zumo 550.  It was replaced by a 665 sometime in 2008 or 2009 (maybe later).  I used it on my 2003 Valkyrie and my 2007 ST1300A.

So, I decided to see if Basecamp would recognized it and it did.  But what was even more interring was the route that showed in the Basecamp screen.  It's shown below, one our last trips using the Zumo 550.

June 9th -  20th, 2014.  Total miles traveled (or planned to be traveled) 4,250.  Just a year before I got my 2015 Goldwing.

That is also the trip where I hit a deer on the interstate somewhere in West Virginia.

Just some minor damage to the ST's front finder and the right side case.  Used duct tape to keep it closed.  My friend and I picked up our wives at the airport in Maine and then, after finishing our tour through Canada, we dropped them back off at the airport in Maine.

At least that is what I remember.  it was just cool that it still shows up on the Zumo 550 after all these years.

And it was a very good trip.

I know it's cliché, but..... They just don't make 'em like they used to!

After guiding me to the extreme southern tip of the continent of Africa:

I upgraded to a newer shinier version (That didn't last but a few years as I recall) and sold my 550 to Daniel Meyer.

And then just two weeks ago at Inzane what did I see on Daniel's Valk?

Yup... It's still running...

That's pretty neat. Nice (re)find!
