Some may have heard of the guy "Chris Hopper" that did 100k miles in 100 days a few years ago.  He published a book "Thunder Across America: 100,000 miles in 100 days".  Well he's on another adventure to break that record and into it about a month now.

If you have FB or Instagram you can find him at "hops_adventures"

If you want to track his current status you can find him here.

This is a record I have absolutely no desire to even attempt breaking.   I don't even understand why someone would want to.   I enjoy the heck out of my Valkyries but have no desire to attempt any more Iron Butts.   The few times I did ride 1K miles or more in a short time was because I had a long way to go and a short time to get there.

I'd need a butt transplant at after a couple days of that.   Grin

Plus stopping every hour or so to take a leak.

No thanks.  I just did 1100 miles (half up, half back) last week in my comfortable truck with AC, and it kicked my ass.

He did raise a lot of money for disabled people.

Even with both of us driving - 1000 miles per day is a bit rough. Yes - we have the every 90 minute bathroom break, plus eating and finding somewhere comfortable to sleep.

This guy certainly deserves some respect but that’s hauling butt day in and day out. Certainly no real time to catch the scenery. A 1000 miles a day, no thanks even if for charity. That’s an oil change every 5-6 days…maybe 10 depending on how far one wants to push it.

This is something to consider…only if I’m being chauffeured in a motorhome and a personal chef.

Looks like he's not going to make it happen this attempt.  Recent post indicate he was involved in a accident hitting the back of a car.  Not sure of the condition of the bike but he has a couple fractures and a few stitches in his elbow.  The last picture I see of his mileage was 29,430 but he was last tracked further on.

I guess there's someone else going for a 125k miles in 125 days also but I have no info on that trip.

This all depends on the person. My son never sleeps more than 4-5 hours a day, every day.

For anyone that's interested he posted on the hdforum pics of the bike and his injury.  Think he has posted more on Instagram and or FB also.  Be careful out there it can happen in the blink of an eye.
